Don't ask for link but I heard today on WIP in philly the eagles are interested in trading for dion Jordan for their first round pick.
Of course this is probally media bull**** but the eagles were supposed to draft him last year.

You're speculating that Ireland wanted him, and that Philbin and Coyle don't, so Hickey may move him? I see the logic, but I really hope that isn't the case. Jordan has a lot of talent. The coaches just chose not to use him. Thats on them.

If Hickey does that, I will end my wait and see attitude towards him. It would show what an idiot he is.
Remember though Eagles being interested doesn't mean we are.DPlus47, MikeHoncho and ASOT like this. -

It won't happen in a million years because of the 16 million in dead money tied to him. But hypothetically speaking let's assume all these players play for free, I would be tempted to trade him, you have to wonder if his shoulder will always be an issue. This coming draft has so much talent that a late first round pick would be huge for us.
-
I didn't like moving up in the draft for an injured player but if Chip Kelly wants Jordan then I do too.
-
-
Again moot because of the dead money, but he played very few plays in college...sparingly his rookie year. Something is just off with the guy.
Animal when he plays, one of the more confusing situations I've seen.MAFishFan likes this. -
2 1sts, Matt Tobin and Bryce Brown maybe, otherwise no thanks.

makes sense now… with Jordan and the rest of the rookie class….
Looks like Ireland and Philbin were not seeing eye to eye on the players Ireland was getting and Philbins solution is to not play them… "reminds me of money ball"
*********
If the Fins trade Jordan they better get more then a late first round pick for him…
Not that I think they should trade him

If he doesn't get his crap together in the offseason, it may come to that. Hate to see it happen though. Think he has all the talent in the world to play, just has to put it together and work for it, and have a staff that believes in him and puts him in the position to succeed.
-
Philbin has final say on personnel this season iirc
-
I'll play devil's advocate here. (for the record i don't believe the eagles would do it)
We didn't need Dion to get to 8-8 last season. Assuming Wake's got a few more great-good years in him, we don't entirely "need" dion at all with how vernon played. Our pick plus the eagles pick could miraculously improve our oline. What would our season have been like if tannehill only got sacked, lets say 40 times instead of 58...40 is still a bad line but its amaxing how much worse we were then bad.Da 'Fins likes this. -

Try their first second and third round picks.

As others have said, if there were additional picks I would definitely consider it. But for just their first rounder this year, no way.
-
Even if you did miss it, Ireland is gone and most of the people we talked to about replacing him weren't interested. It's not concrete proof but you don't have a problem using rumor or innuendo when it suits your POV... -

There better be a heck of a lot more involved than their first this year. We traded up to get him and used a top 3 pick, one year later he's worth a late first round pick? This is the kind of move we got rid of Ireland for lol. I mean I know this is merely speculation but good God if we did this I'd be pissed.
-
I used a rumor when it suited my POV? What was that? -
The little that Jordan played, he won a game or two for us with the few plays he was inserted. That's why Profootballfocus has him rated so high. I don't see anyone coming out of the draft at DE this year near his talent.
-
I thought jordan showed a ton of promise last year. I, like many other posters were wondering why he wasn't seeing the snaps we thought he should. It was said because he didn't play the run well. I don't know how jordan rated against the run, but he looked like he held his own pretty well.
Could his lack of playing time been philbin's way of protesting Ireland's roster management?
I would really hate it if we trade Jordan, unless we get a huge haul in return. -
I fail to see why people think this could actually happen.
We wouldn't get proper compensation and the dead money would be insane if we traded him.
It's simply a pipe dream for Philadelphia fans, IMO. -
