Chances are this match up will decide the outcome of Sunday's game. Both are surrounded by some VG talent. A closer look:
Henne- 154 for 243, 63.4%, 1669 yards, 6.9 avg per pass, 230 yds per game, 8 Td's, 7 picks, 10 sacks, and a rating of 82.5
Flacco- 140 for 236, 59.3%, 1651 yards, 7 avg per pass, 226 yds per game, 10 TD's, 6 picks, 10 sacks, and a rating of 84.2
Hard to imagine any two players being closer in the stat game, age, etc. Flacco has won one more game so far this year.
Here's one thing where there is a HUGE difference. My brother lives in MD, and tells me 99% of the fans LOVE Flacco.
Not quite the same for Dolphans.

Honestly....I think the Dan Marino remark is somewhat accurate. The Ravens have never had a QB of Flacco's quality....
Every Miami QB will be compared to Marino it seems...not sure why...thats a mighty high benchmark.fin13, ToddsPhins, Frumundah Finnatic and 7 others like this. -
Bear in mind that Flacco is markedly better at home than he is on the road. I think that a lot will depend on which team has their running game going, b/c that will make it so much easier for either QB.

Have to go with Henne over Unibrow. -
Living in the past is a different story. "If You Can't Be With The One You Love, LOVE The One You're With." -

See here is where I differ, the last Great Qb to play for the Dolphins was not Dan Marino to me, it was Chad Pennington, that is my prism for viewing Chad Henne.
Penny with half of the physical skill of Henne could slice and dice and julienne a defense, I'd like to see Henne do the same.Ophinerated and dolfan7171 like this. -
This will be an interesting matchup. I believe we can come out on top and Henne play the better game.

Fans here will always compare Henne and anone else in a Dolphin uniform to 13.
As stated the Ravens have not had alot of good QBs until Flacco.
I like Henne and still think he has tremendous upside.
The fans from Baltimore should appreciate thier QB,he's good and getting better. The fans from Miami need to realize what we have.lohink likes this. -
You get slot of love when you have 3 playoff wins and an AFC championship appearance your first two years

I'm happy with henne ..he's the best qb that we have in our pockets. His mistakes are tolerable because he mostly makes up for it ... Like the last game .

In response to Penny being the last great QB for the Dolphins, I'm not exactly sure I would consider Penny to be a "great" QB. He is good and I love him for assisting in the 2008 turnaround, but he's also the same guy that got shoed away from NY and struggled mightily in early 2009. We had a very easy schedule in 2008 (due to the 1-15 2007 season) and Penny took advantage of that. That's great, I applaud him and he will always be loved in Miami, but I just don't think he can be considered "great". I would go as far to say he is and was a good NFL QB in the league and one that can certainly help your team win games. Great QB's are ones that take their team on their back.
So I agree that Henne will always have to deal with the Marino comparison b/c he truly was the last great QB. Similar to all 49ers QB's being compared to Montana and Young. -

As for 4-5 > 3, do you also write with crayons? :lol:unluckyluciano likes this. -

I've been saying this since the beginning of the season and I will continue to. For a quarterback who's only started 20 games in this league, Chad Henne has been pretty impressive.Delfin Alejandro likes this. -
I hope you guys beat Baltimore. I think you can cause your just as physical as they are.

I recall posting that, if that was true, we could start 2-6. That did not happen, and Henne is doing well.
I have to believe that his leash will be extended soon. It may not be vs Balt, or even Tenn, where we "should" have to play close to the vest. These are like mid-season playoff games to see who eventually gets to the playoffs.
However, it is coming. Of this I am sure. -

I remember Henne asking the team for film of his every play to review in the off season. He is gonna be as good as he can be. How good that is, is anyone's guess.
I believe we start with the top half of the NFL, and he goes from there. -
A lot of people get on Henne because he has been to the playoffs (didn't get there last year and might not get there this year).
I don't think that's fair (Flacco has the better overall supporting cast, or at least he did in 2009) but until Henne gets there (more than once if I had to guess) folks will continue to question his abilities. -

The wildcat had a lot to do with our success in 08. -

I think the biggest reason people dont like Henne is because we have pennington. Its much easier to say we should put in out backup when we are only 4-3 and Henne isny playign like marino and have no way of being wrong :p People love to speculate and be right. But I love Henne, its so hard to believe people forget about how he is easily in the top 2 qbs weve had here in a long time. cant wait for this game!
-
As long as Henne gets better every year, I'm happy as hell to have him as our starter.

I like Flacco, but I think Henne will end up being the better quarterback.Ophinerated likes this. -
look right now Henne is a qb with a good completion percent that can move the ball between the 30's but cant put the ball in the endzone if he gets better great if not then he's average.
some like him some dont and we will always have these stupid arguments, thats just reality -
Now that said, you still have to play your divisional opponents 6 times as well as one AFC and NFC division.
Still, Miami did have a fairly soft schedule in 2008. Much softer than what they've seen thus far in 2010.
