Well, there is more in the story, the protection he is speaking about is the one most of us have put on Lydon Murtha when Pace went past him unblocked, that protection call was Henne's to make, and he botched it.
If folks recall, Sparano said the sacks had nothing to do with the blocking performance..which means Henne blew the protection calls, the linemen blocked whom they were expected to block, Henne was not calling the proper protections..
Err, this ain't good Leon, not good at all, it causes a spiral of mistrust to develop.

Blame someone else to deflect the blame being thrust on you perhaps?

I think at this point Henning would blame just about anything or anybody for this offense's poor performance. Which ultimately is his responsibility. Was it Henne who called the WC after the beautiful pass to Fasano last game?

I blame the coaching staff before I place blame upon any of the players, especially Chad Henne. It's clear that Henning has to go.

You see a Pace running past Murtha unblocked, you figure it is Murtha who messed up, if it wasn't Murtha the next suspect would be the running back, but he was on the other side of the formation, then the Guard..when all along it was Henne's screw up.Bpk likes this. -
it worries me that sporano may feel it's henne's fault to a point he feels our playcalling is fine and we get stuck with henning next year too when they both should really go.and it frustrates me that a guy who's been a o-line coach forever can't field a consistant group of ones much less backups that are good enough to last more than a yr here.

That second fumble? By design it was meant to call for using one hand to deliver the ball, the ball was soaked and slick, but instead of modifying the play and using two hands, Henne used one hand..as the play called for..Robot wouldn't adjust to the onfield conditions.. -
All I know for sure is that Marshall was definitely open on the play and it could've been a far better result.

Henning is a jackhole!!! Same crap he was fired in Carolina... He runs an inept offense unless you have a QB with PERFECT accuracy. Pennington was that, positive and negative. When he wasn't perfect the offense was exposed for what it is: Dink and Dunk bullcrap!
Give Henne an offense that yields a running game or plays that aren't blatantly obvious routes and he will flourish, mark my words...

Henning to?
Bro, methinks the excuse virus is beginning to manifest itself in re Chad Henne.Bpk likes this. -

Mr Hand is turning into Mr.Fist listening to Henning place the blame on two mistakes the young QB made in this football game. He doesn't even mention the perfect pass Henne threw to Marshall at the end of the 3rd QTR that BM didn't fight for.

I guess I was wrong. You have no clue. -

After a time, when it starts quacking, and waddling, and swimming and has an orange bill, it is duck no matter what the name plate identifies..
My goals for Henne have not changed, 19 Td's 3k yds, less than 22 turnovers in total -
I just read the article. Either the writer or Henning is contradicting themself.
Henning calls is a bootleg and then he says Henne never got the ball to Ricky. Which was it?
Did Ricky hit the ball? Henning isn't even sure. It's hard to tell in the replay, but when I first watched it it looked as if Ricky hit the ball. -
This regime has already benched Henne once and Penny would still be playing if he hadn't been hurt. And now both the HC and coordinator are being more critical of him.
Henne might be on the team next year. but he will absolutely be competing with a veteran or a 1st round pick -
-
From the article: “We can’t continue to exist with as little a passing game as we had last week,” Henning said after a 30-yard net passing performance for the Dolphins. “We have to do better than that.”
Someone should ask the ****** if he's happy with the running game.GMJohnson likes this. -
I don't know what makes you think Henne goes into next season as the unquestioned starter based on what you've seen thus far.RGF likes this. -

And when did I say he was going to be the unquestioned starter going into next season? Read my post again. I said he'll have a chance to start. He'll probably be competing with another veteran. -
think they finally figured out the guy is a bust & are preparing for his exit & replacement ?

I do however excuse uneducated fans for supporting it. Especially in this case. :wink2:GMJohnson and MarinePhinFan like this. -
"I have all the trust in the world of Dan on game day to let him do his thing," Sparano said. "One of the things I learned as a play caller was that the head coach can get in the way sometimes. People in your ear, too many chefs in the kitchen, that can be a problem. I like to stay out of the way of Dan as much as possible."

I think Sparano gives Dan too much freedom. -
"I'm the type of guy who goes for the par," says Henning, of the various options available to his quarterback on each pass play. "Jake goes for the eagle. I've had quarterbacks who had to have it absolutely perfect before they'd throw downfield. The game's not like that. That's why I like Jake. He takes intelligent chances." -
---Dan Henning -
All I stated was the obvious fact, that this staff has no confidence in Chad Henne. This is obvious to see. I don't know why it's all that controversial a topic. -
-
Ryan almost always lines up more people then there are blockers for, this is how NE raped them badly. If you have a really good QB, you can toast the jets defense. -
So congratulations Henning, you blame Henne for that one protection. Now what about the other 673 questionable calls this year. Henne's fault too? Did he really audible to Wildcat on 3rd and 8? Damn that Henne guy.
Listen, I'm not an advocate for or against Henne, but every QB makes mistakes, it happens. Secondly, things like this shouldn't be mentioned in public. You don't throw someone under the bus like that, you just don't. Keep it inside, the only place it matters.MarinePhinFan, GMJohnson, Hiruma78 and 1 other person like this.
