How likely do see this front office with all these bad contracts turning the 2018 season around?
I personally have no faith and forsee another 6-10-8-8 season. The question will be if this comes true will Ross fire Tannebum?

I have a ton of faith in the front office personally. I know that a lot of people can't see it, but the team has become considerably younger in recent years and I've been very happy with the drafts. I'm not sure which contracts you're talking about being bad- maybe Pouncey, Suh and Landry? Or Tannehill?
For both Pouncey and Suh, they were the best in the league for their respective positions when they signed those contracts. That doesn't make them bad- it just means they got paid a fair value. The same goes for Tannehill and Cutler- Smoking Jay in particular since we had to sign a starter within 24 hours.
And on Landry, he was demanding $16M+ a year and that's what the franchise tag would cost- why lock him up in a contract with his temper tantrums without seeing what 2018 brings? It was a smart move to franchise him and if he walks, we pick up a pair of 1st round picks as compensation. That's a huge win/win either way and I don't think anyone will pay that price.Irishman likes this. -
I've been overall unhappy with our drafting till last year. I actually felt like we walked away last year with some good talent and immediate impact players. Another draft like that will go along way to giving me confidence. However, 2 things still have me worried. We once again find ourselves unable to find value in Free Agency. We need to figure this out, cause its getting embarrassing to keep having our big FA moves turn into busts. And secondly, I'm not a fan of current contracts, and I don't have confidence that we will start making better deals with Tannenbaum in the position of power. He needs to NOT do what he did for the Jets...

I have as much faith in our front office as I do in me getting drafted this year as a 32 year old prospect with 5.8 speed.

The front office has not yet proven itself trustworthy, but this is pretty much the make-or-break season for both them and Gase. Real, solid progress in building a contending team, or get ready to start over in 2019.
Actually, given how Ross operates, he'll give them half of 2019 before cleaning house and starting again in 2020. -

Bad contracts in Suh, Hayes, Kiko, TJ McDonald, Julius Thomas for starters. Saying Suh was the best at his position does not justify paying a DT QB money especially on a team that was not 1 player away. Theres only 2-3 players defensively you pay that kind of money to and you have to be one of the 2-3 best defensive players in the NFL regardless of position which Suh has not been. IMO only Watt deserves that kind of money. I don't have a problem with the Pouncey contract but he was never the best at his position. 0 All pro selections in his career say otherwise.
We didn't have to sign a starter in 24 hours they panicked and signed Cutler. We could have started Matt Moore or literally anyone else besides Cutler.
Landry was never demanding 16M+ he wanted top 5 WR money in the 14M range. Why is it when its WR its temper tantrums and when its a QB its a fiery nature or a passionate leader? Is Landry the most penalized WR in the league? Nope, was even the most penalized WR on our team? Nope. Is he the best WR we've drafted in the last 20 years? Yep.pumpdogs and Tin Indian like this. -
Therefore if you have no faith in Tannenbaum, it is difficult to see how you can have faith in the people he is responsible for hiring.
Personally I don’t see this organization being anything but mediocre at best, as long as Tannenbaum
has anything to do with the running of football operations.pumpdogs likes this. -
I think Tannenbaum hires good people. I do not think he is good when he doesn't listen to them.Last edited: Feb 23, 2018The Finest and Irishman like this. -

Therefore the organization has been and will remain mediocre as long as the owner continues to be
content with with inferior staff throughout the organization. -

I think drafting has generally been pretty good over the last few years, with the exception of OL, as you expect a team to be able to develop at least one or 2 lower round picks into serviceable starters. Also the more or less complete failure to acquire decent long term FA OL is disastrous. So whoever in the FO has responsibility for drafting/signing OL needs to be fired 2 years ago.
The ongoing failure at LB has more to do with the FO expecting 5th and 6th rounders and UDFAs to perform at probowl level. Again like the OL we’ve crapped out in 5he FA market too.
What I see as the biggest problem with the FO is not signing our quality players we developed when we had the chance (olivier Vernon, Rishaad Mathews, Lamar Miller) and then messing up FA contracts.
Drafting wise, they get at leats a B from me.
Free agency gets a D-. -
Tannabaums job is to put a winning team to together and so far he has failed In 3 years 22-26.I feel better if we went 6-10 first 2 years and then 10-6 last year which means we would be trending up.But after year 3 we are trending down and now have a overpriced bad team.
The only way this team will be saved if Ross sells to a new owner that's has a clue.
Since 1996 only 9 teams haven't played in a Nfc or Afc championship.Yep we are on that list.
