How's this for ridiculous... Lindsay Lohan sues over "milkaholic" E*Trade ad

NEW YORK (Reuters Life!) - The actress Lindsay Lohan has sued E*Trade Financial Corp for $100 million, saying a "milkaholic" baby girl who appeared in a recent commercial was modeled after her.
Lohan alleged that online brokerage's use in the ad the girl, also named Lindsay, improperly invoked her "likeness, name, characterization, and personality" without permission, violating her right of privacy.
In her lawsuit filed Monday in a Nassau County, New York state court, the 23-year-old actress sought $50 million of compensatory damages and $50 million of exemplary damages. She also demanded that E*Trade stop running the ad and turn over all copies to her.
...
The New York Post reported the lawsuit earlier Tuesday. It said Ovadia maintained that Lohan has the same "single-name" recognition as celebrities like Oprah Winfrey and Madonna.
E*Trade's ad was shown in the February 7 Super Bowl, which according to Nielsen media drew about 106.5 million American viewers, a record for a U.S. television program. It is part of a series of ads featuring babies who play the markets.
In the ad, a baby boy apologizes to his girlfriend through a video chat for not calling her the night before because he was on E*Trade.
The camera switches to the girl, who asks suspiciously, "And that milkaholic Lindsay wasn't over?"
It then switches back to the boy, who uneasily replies "Lindsay?" before another baby girl, presumably Lindsay, moves into the frame and asks, "Milk-a-what?"

Wow... sure sounds like somebody is broke and in desperate need of cash to support here... "lifestyle"
This is pathetic. I can't believe the court system actually has to spend time on pathetic lawsuit claims like this.

Hmm... Oprah, Madonna, and ...Lindsay. Yup, all three are unique. I dub this law suit kegit.
That was actually the only etrade commercial ive ever found remotely funny. Talking babies are just creepy.
Kind of amusing really, I hope the judge tosses her case out.
I hope she wins just so I don't ever have to see another talking baby commercial.

I thought that was the best Super Bowl commerical. And those baby E-Trade commericals are genius, even if they are a little worn out.
As for Lohan, No, sweetheart, you aren't first name synonymous like Oprah or Madonna. Just because you were in a couple Disney movies, like crack, and enjoy getting drunk off Sunset Blvd. does not make you "Oprah Famous".
Furthermore, I've nailed several girls named Lindsay (or a variation of the spelling- i.e, Lindsey). It's a slutty name, which is why they used it in the ad. As Bibgry said, it's a PR move in a last ditch effort to revive a dead career.

Im willing to bet that nobody did.
I love that she thinks that because her first name is used... automatically its about her. I mean, sure, she can easily draw conclusions between the milkaholic/alcoholic thing, and the cheating/skanky reference being tied together with her name rather easily... but someone should break the news to her that nobody cares about her anymore

I hope she not only loses but that judge writes a scathing decision as to just how stupid a lawsuit this is.
I would say that this stupidity made me lose respect for Lohan but that would imply I had respect for her to lose prior to this.
wow i just watched it and wow. How can she be so stupid. She has no case. If she wins, then everyone named lindsey should sue...

Actually, I think she might have a case.
As much as I hate her, there was a report that some internal memos from etrade popped up. The original name in the ad was deborah, and they changed it to Lindsay and then changed the following conversation to sound more like Lindsay. So she actually does have some ground because it appears that etrade changed the name and the lines in the commercial and it does actually portray her.
However, Lohan is on crack if she thinks Lindsay is in the same realm as Oprah and Madonna. SO not everyone associated the baby name Lindsay with Lohan.
