If it's weak, it's weak. We blew our shot at getting the best QB in the draft already, so I am not stressing about it any more.

 

This happens every year. Then just like clock work people will be talking about waiting til next yea because that draft is loaded. Then next year the process happens again.

What ever pick we end up with, if Weeden is available( and he probably will be) we should take him. People are hung up on the age thing but this guy has a solid NFL career ahead of him.

 

For like what? Three years tops?

 

Whatever happens, happens. Miami was not playing bad enough to go 0-16 to beat out the Colts for the #1 pick so it didn't matter anyway. In our losses, 4 of them were close enough to win and we had bad teams on the schedule. Really no point in getting mad about winning games. The Colts are a bad football team and will have the #1 pick regardless.

Trent Dilfer added Nick Foles into the #1 pick derby, that means there SHOULD be 3 to 4 to 5 #1 pick quality Qb's in this draft.

Of more concern is how many of those players will Declare for the draft as there is plenty of quality prospects who could declare, who may not declare.

^Truth. How is it that NEXT year's QB class is always loaded and THIS year's QB class is always terrible. Because this fan base loves the incumbent QB no matter who it is.

 

Well, safe to say that is not the case this yr, one will find no one who defends MMoore as vigorously as Chad Henne was defended, though I LIKE MMoore's game.

i dont know how n e one says this class is weak, odds are that 1 goes back 1 declares, and with that this is a strong class and it would be foolish to pass. If we pass on weedon solely because of his age then we are truly fools

 

I like Moore as much as Liked Henne. I will defend Moore the same. But I will also say what I said about Henne, his ceiling is limited and we have to find a franchise potential qb

 

Barkley said earlier this season his decision on whether or not to stay would probably be determined on how well he finished out the season, and since he's been pretty much brilliant the past month or so he could very well feel he's ready for the NFL. He could always change his mind, and I'm sure he'll feel some pressure to, but USC has a ton of talent and can still thrive without him.

As for Griffin, I've done some research and have seen nothing that has substantiated that. He's also pretty much graduated, so I don't particularly see the point in him staying.

 

Well let's be realistic here:

-Eagles
-Bills
-Patriots
-Jest

We can win 4 of those games..maybe, Raiders, Eagles, Bills, Jest, more then likely we win 2 of them, 5-11, that should give us #8 or so.

6-10 would be right around there as well, with 3 Top 10 Qb's, we can land someone.

 

Here I disagree, to me he is Pennington Jr with a better arm but without the field vision as of yet.

This is one of the reasons why I like his game, you can certainly win with him.

 

If anyone thinks weedon makes it out of the 1st is delusional IMO. taking weedon at 3 is like Minny taking Ponder at 12. Weedon is savvy, smart, and he is nfl ready, if he was 23, he would give luck minor comp for #1 overall.

 

I think Weeden will go in round 2.

 

how can some of you be so optimistic about this team, about moore etc. its been over 15 years of basically being a joke.

Short term maybe but I disagree we can go with him and expect we can expect what NE, Ind, NO, Pitt expects from their qbs. I have said with henne and applies to Moore, you can win with them as long as those around them are playing equally. They are not picking the offense up on their backs consistently. Maybe 1 or both could have that switch go on but do you really take that chance?

 

no way, IMO. he is too talented, his age drops him between 14-22 range IMO. tho if he gets past that then I agree with you. But I cant see that, he is too good

 

And noone is Penny jr unless they have that field vision, it is Penny intelligence and pinpoint accuracy and timing that combo, that made him Penny. Moore isnt that saavy

 

And here we disagree again, Henne never put the team on his back, save for maybe 2 gms in 09, MMoore in 7 starts has done far more of it then Henne did in 31 starts, can you expect him to be Ben R or Brady?

Nope, though in 7 starts he has 2 3 Td games, so he can also be highly productive and win games, the problem is his flaws atm are larger then his strengths, below average field vision and he takes to many sacks in bad situations speaking to a lack of starting experience and sort of poor OL play.

Keep in mind JM, parachuting a young Qb onto a poor offense tends to make things worse, not better, in that sense what Moore has done is remarkable, this is the same lineup that Henne could not do very much with other then score 17 pts or less per gm.

 

Moore has equal accuracy imo, and a better arm, when we saw Penny play, he was a 10 yr vet with 6-7 yrs of starting experience, MMoore has less then 20 starts, to expect the same savvy performance is unreasonable imo.

Cause he didnt thursday, he didnt vs jets, he didnt vs SD. in teh 3 wins when did he have to make up for the inadequacies of others? he had all day to throw in teh 3 wins vs porous defenses. vs anyone competent how many wins does Moore have? I am not going to try to sway you but in no way has Moore shown me anything that says lets go forward with him anymore than Henne did. I liked Henne and will defend him that not all ills were his fault, but as is the case with him, Moore is not franchise level qb. He is not going to get us over the hump

 

I dont disagree that it is too soon, but thats the point, its way too soon to put him in that class. To project that level of intelligence is simply that - Projecting. Penny with a better arm is a franchise qb, I dont see Moore as a franchise qb. Penny had uncanny timing that I havent seen Moore match yet either

No way does Moore have Penny's accuracy. I think they are different players.
