Apparently, the jets/Pats game is now tied up after the jets blew a 20 point lead or something. But I can't watch it.
GO DOLPHINS. Still waiting for that asteroid to fall at midfield!

Prevent Defense: Defense which prevents the team using it as a defense from winning the game.

Well, we'll need to beat the Jests for sure to win the division now.
-

Glad i had Cassell for fantasy. Pretty entertaining game though. Hard to root for a team but i guess i was rooting for the Patsies with Cassel/Welker on my fantasy team.

But I do agree, the jests just became the team to beat to win the east. How sweet it will be...week 17 in NY, loser goes home, winner gets the playoffs, the whole nation watching :knucks:

Have you ever played the game of Monopoly Dan?
Just asking..... -
Remember, we ONLY lost because of one pass that Farvee through up after reading a bible scripture in the huddle. He had NO business throwing it up, and our Defense has no Exuse as it was like 4th and 17 or something rediculous.
IF it comes down to us and them in the final game of the season, I like our chances very very much actually :up:FinFan_Est.1984 and FinSane like this. -

The point is that some cable company chooses to pay for a load of crap channels at a low price rather than pay for quality at a premium. Ask any marketing executive the market that they crave and you will find that the NFL Network owns that market for at least 5 months out of the year. I'm no expert but viewership of the NFL Network should actually peak during the biggest spending month of the year (December).
I'm not saying, I'm just saying..........It is a no brainer. -
The NFL Network is a very slippery slope, if you are paying the extra 300.00 a year or whatever it is to watch, that is your perogative, but when that price doubles because it becomes even more exclusive than it is now (Ala Boxing) I dont want to hear the complaints about how much it costs just to watch Football.
Seems to me, once upon a time football was actually free to watch.... -
And football is still free to watch.. You still get your 4 games a week on ABC, FOX and NBC. But lets be serious, who's not paying for at least basic cable now a days? On top of that, the NFL knows that not all cable companies are providing the NFLN, so they streamed it, for free, on their website. It was ahead of the Direct TV NFLN lead, and the quality was great. Now, not everyone has high speed internet, but I'm willing to bet it's a lot more common than it used to be. -
Miamifan has already illustrated the point made about monday nights. Who didn't have ESPN when the NFL went to cable on monday nights? I would dare to say that they were not watching football anyway.
Miamifan also cleared up your point about watching football for free in the past. The NFL has always given you four games over the air for free. They still do. Nothing has been taken away. Your four free games are still free. Monday night has simply changed to Sunday night. -
I'm the head of a household of four and I can count on two hands the number of stations I watch on the 500+ channels on DirecTV. The NFL Network is one them. The crazy thing is that I have two brainwashed teenage boys watching it too. You want to talk about a market? :knucks:Fin Fan In Cali likes this. -

There is a chance that our week 17 game could be a battle for the #3 and #6 seeds. If Miami and New York both have 10-5 or better records prior to the game, then this could happen. The winner would be the #3 seed as the divison winner; and the loser would be the wildcard. Of course this means they would face off one more time the very next week at the winners home, in the playoffs.
Is this not an epic plot? Especially when you throw Brett Favre and Chad Pennington into the sub plot. -
Or you can all move up here to Canada with me. I believe I pay $4.99 a month for the right to watch NFL Network.
It's a beautiful thing. -
Actually, its not NFLN that I hate as much as it is really nothing more than the tool that the NFL is using to turn the entire league into Pay-Per-View, thus driving revenues to an all new level. The 300.00 for the package is rediculous, and as I stated, it is just the beginning. The more "Exclusive" games they offer (Such as Thurs night) the more they can drive up the price. It is just a matter of a couple of years before that number doubles.
You my brother should understand well that in these times of financial woes, where many of my friends and family are looking bankruptcy and/or foreclosure, and many more can't retire due to the market, the fact that the NFL has several 100's of employees making 15x what I would consider a nice salary is completely rediculous. You think the NFL is losing money regardless of the Package?
Once again, its not really the NFLN that I hate, its where this is all headed. An ALL EXCLUSIVe very expensive trip to mediocrity.MelbournePhin, aesop and Fin Fan In Cali like this.
