Hey from France,
2 last night I don't sleep to watch the draft like every years and support our beloved dolphins.
This year, that was the most exiting draft for us since .............always for my part
I have faith in the Grier/flores combo picks judgement but I can tell that I am disappointed with 2 of our picks and more importantly, I think we wanted others players at this pick but Grier react not with enough reactivity.
Here is why :
I really think we wanted Ruiz with our third first rounder.......But the saints pick him !
my problem is if you study NO saints drafting history, you could see they draft often solid OL in the first round.....so IMO that was predictable.......and we have amno to leapfrog them !!!!!
this is my first disappointment!!!
tomorrow the same things was reproduced for Dobbins (and now don't tell me that the RB we will pick will good like Dobbins please) and IMO for Ashtyn Davis picked by the jets and we panicked and picked Brandon Jones but again we have the amno to move up and we don't did it
OK it's only my intuition but 3 times......I don't think so and just imagine what would be our OL with Ruiz and our offense with Dobbins.
Add that we could have picked Noah in the second if coach Flo really liked him.
see you here for the last days

He did good with the talent he had, but "dumb" would be to put blind faith in him at this point. He merits some faith, but still needs to do a lot more to convince me he's a great head coach. -

Hitman has a point....Flores was 5-11........you are what your record is.....now he did earn some goodwill because he had a **** team with **** talent....but he has to keep improving the results and moving the right direction to be declared the answer. We should be encouraged but long way to go fellas....and Hitman and I agree on very little from what I see in the few days I have been back.....

This is still a process, they didn't go all in and load up for a run. They are still building a foundation and letting it cure.resnor likes this. -
It really depends if 1) they had Ruiz as the next highest rated player or not. Maybe they didn't, or had him and several other players slotted around the same.
Also, and i might catch flak for this, but Breida for a 5th > Dobbins for a 2nd -
I am at the point where I believe in Flores and will need to see him fail to think otherwise.danmarino and Ohio Fanatic like this. -
I am hopeful Flores is the guy but I'm not ready to say he is the answer quite yet. I'm sure many here thought Sparano was the answer after that 11-5 season and I'm sure many thought Gase was the answer after that 10-6 season. I'm gonna wait and see with Flores.

The fact that he had the team entirely unprepared and embarrassing itself early on is on him, it doesnt make the end of the season any better to me. You dont get to poop the bed and then take credit for hosing it down.
Hes definitely a motivator, but as far as scheme or innovation, which it will take to win a division or Superbowl, we have proven less than nothing.
I dont think it's wrong to be lukewarm on our staff. Not everyone is so easily impressed in life that a bad season that went exactly as expected makes us have total faith in a coach.
Youd think Flores cured cancer. Every game we won minus NE we had a QB or talent advantage in. We didnt do anything great or worthy of praise.
When we actually do something positive I'll have faith in our staff. Until then, I see no change from the first year of previous regime.
In fact I'd go as far as to say I have no more faith in Flores than I did Philbin or Gase after year one. Not because he is terrible like them but because their first years IMO brought just as much "hope".hitman8 likes this. -
I mean "When we actually do something positive I'll have faith in this staff"?? Where in the holy hell were you the last game of the season?? :lol:resnor, Dol-Fan Dupree and Bumrush like this. -

He is entitled to his opinion, and he has good reasons for them which he stated. You dont have to insult him and imply he is dumb because you might not agree.Last edited: Apr 26, 2020 -
With Flores we're seeing the same things. Tough and well coached teams that play hard for their coach. But I think we're seeing more signs of Flores being special. I felt our team beat NE at the end of last season in large part b/c we out-coached them. I think NE won the SB over the Rams b/c Flores' defensive game plan was better than McVie's offensive game plan. (I know some will want to give all the credit to BB, but from what I heard it was very much Flores who orchestrated that plan, particularly in the redzone). My expectation going forward is that we'll rarely be out-coached and more often out-coach the opposition. I also think that Flores has done a very good job with his staff. Unlike Gase, Flores seems very comfortable bringing in great coaches and actually listening to them. I do think that's why we lost a couple of coaches this year to poaching. He also seems to put an emphasis on teaching and I'm seeing players develop much more than I have in a long time in Miami. That gives me hope that we'll develop that 'next man up' pipeline like NE has been able to do for so long.resnor, danmarino, DOLFANMIKE and 1 other person like this. -

The Colts have Jacoby Brisset who had himself a pretty decent season, I'd say it's a about even as far as QB. Out side of QB that have an all pro LB an all pro G a pro bowl talent WR and pro bowl talent TE. They also ranked 7th in rushing yards. So again they had the talent advantage over us.
So minus NE, the Colts, and the Eagles. -
Your quote was included with his but I have no problem with your take. I actually agree with you.Last edited: Apr 26, 2020mooseguts likes this. -

#1- To actually have a season (whatever that looks like)
#2- To exceed the 5-win mark
#3- To improve in major metrics (rushing, rush D, pass D, sacks, pressures, etc.)
#4- To see growth in rookies and the same well-coached/disciplined team
Maybe we win 10 games...it would be amazing and all, but I think the 6-8 win mark is more realistic. And again, who knows if we even play 16 games this season...so much is still unknown. It's actually a great year for rebuilding since this will largely be a throwaway year due to the virus.
For me, I'm more worried about having a college season so we can have a draft next year! Imagine if they don't have college football and give seniors another season of eligibility....then what? There's nobody to draft.texanphinatic likes this. -
