Hello,
I think our beloved dolphins need to draft Johnson.
Think about that :
moreno ( I will resign him for one year)
Miller
Johnson
That would be a scary trio.

I don't think, I know we need another running back, so who's it gonna be..
I'd get excited about Gordon or Gurley in the 1s maybe after a trade Down scenario, or Duke in the 2nd or Josh in the fourth..
This is prolly the best way to help the team win games, take pressure off tannehill, and bolster the run game..77FinFan and Piston Honda like this. -
Duke Johnson will be another small-ish Canes RB taken around the 3rd-ish round. Sound familiar? ;)
If you think someone is going to be a star at the next level, I guess you could conceivably take anyone, but I'm not sure what is there to make Duke Johnson a valuable commodity to a team that already has a similar RB in Lamar Miller.
Duke Johnson is a short, lean and somewhat small (200lb) RB with 4.55 speed.
I'm sorry but I don't see the value in adding a guy like that with a draft pick when our needs are for a bigger, more physical RB who can shoulder the load during the 1st half of games as well as during goal-line and tough yardage situations.

I too see Johnson as just another Miller. He isn't the big back that this team needs near the goal line or on third and short.
I prefer Gurley or Gordon, who are bigger backs and can break tackles at the line of scrimmage.
While I think the bigger needs are at LB, CB, and OG in the first round. I won't be upset in the least if they decide to draft Gurley or Gordon with their first round selection. -

I want a bruiser in the backfield. Duke can't stay healthy through a season in college so I don't have much faith he would hold up at the pro level.

3rd round on I think he'd be a really good pick. I mean if he slides a bit he could be a steal, he's certainly a guy I'd like to see us pick if we don't go with Gordon or Gurley.

We have a durable 23 Yr old primary RB thats bigger and faster, and avg'd 5.1 ypc. Please, we are not in a position to be making luxury picks. If we draft a RB it better be day 3.

Can't dismiss Damien Williams. He showed good things last season in limited use, specially as a pass catcher off the back field. A bruising back could complement very well the backs already on the team though, no doubt.

Johnson wouldn't be my first but as a value pick in the 3rd or 4th round, as Miller was, I'd love to a have him. Sure he's small but between he and Miller we'd have two guys who can handle 12-15 touches apiece both with big play ability. Not a bad situation to be in IMO.

My concern with Johnson is that he always seemed nicked up at the big moments vs good teams. He feasted on crap.
What were his fumble stats? -
I'd draft Tevin Coleman and a guard. A complete running game would help with the pass rush.

If Miami drafts a RB, it would be nice to get one with some power and ability to break tackles. Duke Johnson is not that RB.
*Melvin Gordon would be an exception to the above. Only because he does so many other things well. -
My favorite values at the position would be Mike Davis, Josh Robinson, and Jalston Fowler (hopefully) on the third day.
I also like David Johnson as a pass catching weapon. -
sign Gurley @ 14
