Always liked his exoctic blitzes unlike Coyle where u can guess it

We've got as good a chance of hiring Buddy Ryan as we do Rex.
-
Now, if you want to hire him as Head Coach, you may have a shot, but no way is Rex signing on with Miami is DC. He'll be a HC somewhere, or a DC on a very good contending team.
-
I was thinking the same thing. Great defensive coordinatore
-
Would love to have Rex as our DC. Unfortunately I don't see it happening. Heck not sure I would mind him as head coach. At least he shows some real fire.
-
I was thinkinfg the same. Excellent pressure def coor

IMO, if you don't have a really strong HC, bringing in Rex as DC is asking for trouble. If you have a Harbaugh, Rex would be fine. If you're stuck with someone like Philbin, Rex would be a disaster.

I think I would take Rex as HC. His style of ground and pound and winning with defense could be awesome for this team, including Tannehill. Would need a hard nosed RB.

I was on the Rex Ryan head coach bandwagon, until hearing an interview last week, where they said alot of the players feel like practices and film study arent taken serious enough. They said hes a great motivator..and the PLAYERS LOVE PLAYING FOR REX RYAN....but to be a head coach..you also have to be very detail oriented, and hes not at all.

Rex Ryan isn't head coaching material. He's repeatedly shown himself useless on the offensive side of the ball. He'd be a great defensive coordinator though.

For DC? Hell yes. Head coach? No way.
If Coyle gets let go Rex will definitely be available. Man he would love to stick it to the Jets too. It would be like Pennington all over again. -
I want Rexy with that defensive line. I'm sure he'd bring in good linebacker and secondary coaches. He's been around NFL defenses all his life.
-
I'd take him but I think Coyle is far from horrible.

I don't understand why Rex isn't considered HC material... So it's his fault that he's been given Geno Smith and Mark Sanchez? We just going to act like there's a coach in the league who could do a better job with the NYJ at the moment? He can scheme his *** off, teach, and his players love him. Give him a competent GM and he's in the playoffs every year. Put it this way... I think Miami is 4-1 w/Rex Ryan as coach. 3-2 at worst.
-
I'll pass.
He has one unfortunate similarity with Philbin. He can't get his team to perform at a consistently high level. He has games where he can out scheme and out motivate someone like Vince Lombardi, but next week he's team is down and flat.
There's different reasons for the inconsistencies but I'd much rather a coach who can consistently get good production out of a team rather than someone who flips between great and goat. -

Nice thoughts, but Rex is a head coach and will be hired as such when he's fired from the jests... His antics wear on ownership and FO types, but he's a wanted commodity and will be pursued...
Do I want Rex as a HC....I don't think so...as I said, like Harbaugh, his personality wears on an organization and he'd just be biding his time until he's fired by someone again... -
