I guess I'm asking two questions, so a poll would be too confusing.
Question 1 If Tannehill is there at #8 would YOU take him?
Question 2 If you say yes, would you still take him if either Richardson or Blackmon somehow are still available?
My answer is yes, I'll take Tannehill at #8. Even over Richardson or Blackmon.

Production in the running game does not correlate highly with winning. So, definitely I take Tannehill over Richardson if I think he can improve the passing game. Probably over Blackmon too since more often than not great QBs make mediocre WRs look good rather than the other way around.
I view Richardson and Blackmon as luxuries teams without a franchise QB cannot afford if there are potential franchise QBs available. -
I don't like RBs that high. So Richardson would be out. Heck, David DeCastro is better value IMO.
WRs can be had later. Especially for this offense. Not sure if I want Tannehill specifically, but I'd take a QB there over those two at 8.

This season WRs are packed throughout the draft, especially in the offense we will be running. I'd take Tannehill all day there.
However, I'd perfer to trade down, get a 2nd and draft Weeden late 1stfinyank13 likes this. -
I'd take him. Take him and groom him. Let Moore start, we'll presumably have 5 or 6 wins, then we get an impact player in the Top 10 next year.

I would take him but I doubt Ireland will.

Id rather stock up on good players rather than draft a QB just because....that would be a huge swing n a miss.

I'd trade out if possible, and accumulate extra picks, then if Tannehill is there in the mid to late take him or Weeden. Just have to be careful a wildcard could be KC that could swoop in and take one so i'd try and stay ahead of Cleveland in the first.

I would be paranoid that a few teams in the early teams like KC might take Tannehill if he drops to them, otherwise I'd love to trade down and still try to grab Tannehill.

If the Dolphins had drafted Matt Ryan, and he turned out to be a bust, where would we be right now?GreysonWinfield likes this. -

I simply said id perfer to stockpile picks and trade down in that peticular situation rather than miss BIG on a QB at 8.

I'd take him. Although I'd be very tempted to take Blackmon and trade back into the 1st to draft Weeden. As long as they end up with either Tannehill or Weeden I'll be happy either way. They lose out on both, another lost offseason.
-
I'd take Blackmon in a heart beat....

2. I'm not sold on Blackmon or Richardson, so if Tannehill is gone, I explore trade downs. -

If Blackmon is there, I take him. Richardson, meh. I wouldn't take Tannehill at #8 regardless.

A 1st round center & guard isn't exciting, but the thought of the big plays they'd provide for Bush & Thomas is, not to mention extra protection which should translate to more big pass plays than we would've otherwise had. If we can nail down this year's draft, even if that means DeCastro, then we could maybe make a splash in FA next year like Buffalo & TB did this year. It would allow us to spend big money wisely rather than spending to spend IMO. -
If the Dolphins draft Tannehill at #8 and he turns into a stud, NO ONE is gonna say he was reach.
EDIT: I know you said IF Tannehill was off the board. Wasn't picking on you. Just voicing my displeasure for VALUE. #Value.Rhody Phins Fan and Ozzy like this. -
Something I just seen on Grudens QB camp that was really interesting was Tannehill teach a receiver exactly what he wanted in his route. I think that its something really interesting that he brings to the table, something very unique.
If this were a few years ago, I say no way, but with the new rookie cap I think you can afford to take a lot more chances like this. Even if he doesn't work out at least it doesn't cost you $200 million like it would have used to. -
