Rather have Pat Cobbs back

 

I was a big Pat Cobbs fan, but
Pat Cobbs looked good because of the crap that was surrounding him.
not even sure a healthy Pat Cobbs makes this roster.

 

The center of his own universe that guy.

 

Glad you are glad, but I believe you are in the minority. This guy hasn't done anything exciting or productive in the Nfl for years.

 

Huh? He had 1100 yards on the Bengals 2 years ago.

i do believe he is slightly humbled after last year. He's still gonna be chad, so he can never truly be humbled, but like he kept saying, he really is a good guy altogether, and I believe that. I think it'll be a good thing for our receivers and our team. and hey, if he can't get the production, so be it.

I think his season in New England was good for him. It was a reality check, and he realized that he must work hard to earn the yards that he once had. He is back to his old days now, showing up early to practice and leaving late. He is becoming the old chad, granted 2 years ago he had a good season, he wants to be the bengal chad. He is here and quite frankly I can sleep at night happily knowing he is here. He is ready to comeback, be an alpha receiver, and more importantly he is ready to once again become chad JOHNSON

 

He's a keeper. CJ for life. He better make the roster. Nice find cobb;)

my feelings are to be an NFL caliber player (and a great one at that)-- you can't really have the personality to be completely humbled. You have to have an ego, it's your drive. Not saying there's anything wrong with it, just what it seems like.
That said, i am not and never will be an NFL player, so, my opinion means diddly and I know it :up:

 

Seriously, swinging that thing with blindfolds on. I expect solid play from Chad this season. (chop chop!)

 

I don't agree with that, but it's interesting...I think showing humility at the right times is what it's all about, usually I don't mind chads bravado, there's a kindness about him that sometimes shows itself, and his enthusiasm for the game is great, I think he goes overboard a bit, like sending tweets to the commissioner about fining him now, Or cursing in a after practice presser, I hope he matures a bit and doesn't go too crazy so he can start to explore his leadership side..

The quote about how Sean Smith can't cover him was funny..Sean did a pretty good job when I was there, about even Imo, chad got nothing deep on him, but racked up some plays on some deep outs, and some deep curls..he really runs that route beautifully, comes strait back to the ball where no one but him can catch it, and snatches it out of the air..I believe we will come to appreciate how good his hands are.

 

I hope Chad has his best season I like the guy.

 

We'll see after he starts producing...if he's the guy we saw 3 yrs ago...great...if not, let some of the younger guys get their shots in... I could care less how well he interviews or how entertaining he is...if you want entertainment, there are places to go to get that...if you want football, let's see it on the field...

Actually, there is something to what Penn was saying...Being as good as these guys are at what they do requires a degree of arrogance or bravado. I see it with CEO types and higher level educators, for example. I remember meeting Dan Marino in a club in Atlanta in 1984...talk about arrogant...the guy was a prick to most of the people at the place, but 15 years later I got a chance to be in a golf tournament with him, he was personable and amiable, but there was still that air about him, that he could do things you couldn't do...However, I agree that showing humility at the right time is what separates the Marino's and Thomas's from the Johnson's and TO's of the NFL world...
