I will say telling his agent he won't be cut and then cutting him after the Jets and Bengals had a need, but filled it with signings has douche written all over it after a player had been completely professional and loyal to the Dolphins.Aquafin, HardKoreXXX, Itsdahumidity and 4 others like this. -

A douche? Absolutely.
Is Ireland really so short sited? Doesn't bode well for a GM. A couple of weeks ago when Ireland is telling his agent he won't cut Bell Miami was looking to sign Peyton that would have cost nearly $20 million a year. He was telling his agent he wouldn't cut Bell when he knew he would have to fork out that much $$$...but he has to cut him after Miami signs R. Marshall, Hicks, Westerman and Garrard?
With all the crap Ireland is receiving from former players about what a douche he is this is the LAST thing Ireland needs to do. You don't think other players are taking notice and thinking, "Yep, Ireland is a douche! I sign with Miami and this is the kind of treatment I can expect."
A ****ING DOUCHE-BAG IDOIT!!! -

Ireland's people skills are holding him back. I think he is an able talent evaluator, he just is a douche as well.
At least now he seems to understand he is pissing everyone off... -
Seriously best post ever. -

Miami needs to cut Bell to free up enough $$$ to sign R. Marshall, Hicks, Westerman, and Garrard on top of the money they were under the cap? WOW!
More importantly Miami's reputation has taken a REAL blow and Ireland cuts a player, limiting his chances to sign elsewhere, after saying he had no intention to further doing damage to his and the Dolphins reputation.
Ireland should be doing everything the right way right now.
I would agree with the fanbase supporting Ireland does need an enema.Griese12 likes this. -

Bell was a liability in coverage majorly and I have no issues with cutting him. Teams cut players at this point ALL THE TIME and you are acting like every team that needs a safety has one by magic or everyone is pressed up against the cap and won't sign Bell. The thing is that if every team had its safety positions completely filled and he wasn't in our plans, that just means he shouldn't be starting anyway and would make it an even BETTER thing we cut him and didn't pay him ridiculous money.
He is a decent player and a grown man. He will land on his feet somewhere. -

They make an outlandish statement, get called on it, then retort with other rhetoric not related to the original outlandish statement.
It works like this:
Cult Guy: The sky is purple, thanks be to Zigadudu.
Regular Guy: Um the sky is blue.

Yes, I seriously don't like liars. YMMV.

Florida is a no fault state; people get fired everyday w/o a moment's notice yet our fans are complaining about cutting Bell over 6 months before the regular season starts. If Bell is so worth keeping at 4.0+ million (as some are suggesting), then he should have zero problem finding a home before September for a lesser contract. -

When you are making a promise for the future, reneging is lying. -
Yep and it pissed Taylor off so much that he never came back....oh wait. It's a business and **** happens.

So, the liar was gone then, no?
And there are some businessmen who run their business without lying.Fancy that.... -
And this justifies lying, how?
If you don't see how actions like this are crippling this organization's reputation, I can't help you.... -
It was reported in several places that he told both Bell and his agent Rosenhaus that he would not be cut for cap reasons.
And Ireland pretty much admits as much in the article -

Chances are Bell didn't restructure. I mean Ireland's smart if he doesn't get any offers and comes back far cheaper then he was.

How did you guys not see this move coming?
