Ireland says the trades was not for rebuilding purposes but for plans to find players that better fit Philbin's system he is trying to build.
What do you think about this? Check out the link.

We should never give up. If anyone in the organization ever says they are giving up fire their asses instantly.

Folks we have a rookie QB drafted in the first round, starting and a rookie HC.

Yes you are Jeff.
in the hopes of adding a year on the job. You knew the coaching staff had a bug up their *** about Vontae, so you shipped him immediately so you can set the stage further for a rebuilding roster and gain a year to screw US further.
Cynical move, but transparent.
In Ireland's perfect world....if he has the slightest clue that Tannehill might bust...he would hope for a career ending injury...so he can start another rebuild, and get another contract out of Ross.
The guy is here to cash a check. he is on a hustle and we are the suckers.Clipse, Larry Little, PSG and 5 others like this. -

This has to be Ireland's last year if the team doesn't produce at least a .500 season, which doesn't look likely so far. -
How could that be?
If you only had an idea of how many people think EXACTLY the same as I posted and WHO those people are. -
It's more logical to say the exact opposite is true, that Ireland cares more about the team than personal gain b/c Miami having little success this year could be seen as greater grounds for termination, not less. He's actually taking a risk by not seeing an immediate return on Vontae.
So if he were just out for himself, it'd be in his best interest to keep Vontae & not give a crap about Philbin's vision for the team, and care only about winning as many games this season as possible rather than looking out for a future that he may or may not be a part of. :wink2:slickj101 likes this. -

You guys do realize that Ireland gets paid if he gets fired...right?
and if he can gain a 2 year extension beyond this latest one...that he can get canned the day he signs it and he gets all the money, right?
Only Tannehill can redeem him, yet he gives him as little help as possible to succeed in his rookie year. Setting the stage for "building" up his weapons next year.
Can't have him fail with a bunch of offensive weapons. Of course.
It's just a matter of time till Ireland gets fired...My worry is the amount of damage he does before that eventuality. -
I bet he hopes he can get canned next year after adding an option year, then gets a nice cushy head scout job somewhere and double dips. -
He has a less of a chance of receiving an option if the team has a poor '12 season, and removing Vontae doesn't help that any.
If Ireland were as unscrupulous as you'd like to spin him to be, it wouldn't make sense for him to hire such a scrupulous head coach, since the hired HC is typically a reflection of the guy who hired him. IDK, perhaps you like to make a quick dishonest buck and assume that everyone else is the same way? Not accusing, just asking. -
He worked his entire career for the pay day he got here.
he knows he is a failed executive, and now it's about buying time.
he is already fired. It's just a matter of how much damage he does on the way out.Pandarilla likes this. -
The problem is that in the end he is right. We are being hustled - by the entire concept of enjoying a children's game played by multimillionaire adolescent minded quasi-adults whose greatest achievement has been to "earn" a college degree (some of them) which enables them to be hired by large highly profitable corporate entities owned by multibillionaires which charge us directly or indirectly exorbitant amounts of money to sit in front of an electronic device or in decidedly uncomfortable seats paying asinine prices for drinks and snacks all the while calling this utter waste of time 'being a fan.' I think he secretly resents the fact that he, too, is a victim of this entire process - and we know that we are not much better than the junkie on the corner about this game and this team - just as I am. But, as Patton said about war - "God, I do love it!" -
i don't think Section will be satisfied until Pat Riley is hired as GM.

LOL @ Section in this thread. I usually enjoy your posts/opinions but now you're just taking your hatred for Ireland to a new level. You're basically saying he doesn't give a **** about winning here. Come on, dude.
No one will take you seriously with posts like that. It's fine to not like him and disagree with his moves, but this is just an asinine stance. -
How can anyone still defend Ireland or not see that he is incompetant? I keep reading,in other threads, that "we weren't gonna be good this year anyway, so Davis wouldn't have helped us". Good players will always help us. And please stop calling Davis a 3rd corner. He was the best corner we had and if you say differently, you're lying to yourself. Welcome back to the days of Paul Lankford and William Judson. I also keep seeing "this team is 3 or 4 years from being a playoff contender anyways" from a lot of people on hear. My God, 3 or 4 more years? How long have we been saying that? When Davis' replacements stink it uo this year, and they will, we are gonna have to waste an early draft pick on a CB to fill the hole, that we created, instead of being able to use it on a position we really needed. Ireland could surprise us and go get a superstar receiver now, but odds are that he won't. Not only is this team gonna suck this year, again, but they arent even gonna be exciting to watch.

If you hired a carpenter to build your house and after it was partly completed, you found he screwed up much of it, would you trust him to go the repairs on his own mistakes, or get a brand new carpenter to do that?
There is an old saying though, "better the known, than the unknown". So, unless one can get a new carpenter with a proven track record, rather than just an assistant or apprentice carpenter, then maybe one would think the new guy could screw things up even worse. Even so, there is another old saying, "fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice, shame on me." So, if Ross decides to stick with Ireland and gets another bad rebuild, then it's shame on him, and us too who support the team, even if only with our time talking about it. -
Oh the silly Irish emperor. He is as naked as he has left this team.

Honestly, there is nowhere to hide anywhere on these stories right now because of Hard Knocks. The truth will always come out on air.
