WR corps- Improved but the star player being outshined by 7th round draft picks and 2nd string backups - FAIL
Draft class- Complete and total fail. For a GM in save his a$$ mode, he sure did a poor job drafting players that could make an impact- FAIL
OL - No need to discuss
RB- Probably a reflection of the OL, but Miller and Thomas don't start in 90% of the league. In fact, Tampa's 3rd and 4th string RB's may be better than these two.
Tannehill is the real victim here. He has decent WR's but is hamstrung by a diva that doesn't seem to care on the field. The OL is pathetic and can't pass block nor run block. Our RB's are mediocre at best, bottom 5 in the league at best.
With the exception of Grimes, Ireland's revamp is turning into a nightmare. The silver lining is the emergence of Hartline, Matthews, Clay and Gibson.
I think we have a solid core of player on offense that can do great things, if we find a competent GM that can give him time to throw and can ease up the pressure by having a legitimate running game threat.

Not being able to draft receivers is what puts us in a position to over pay for Wallace and Marshall. Then they don't pan out and we're stuck with a receiver we traded for and gave a huge contract.
I think we could invest more into the skill positions if we wanted to but it's not absolutely necessary. We need to build a better line. -
draft class. I hae no idea what's going on with this draft class. You can't judge them yet because we won't play them. The only bright spot to basically being elimnated from the playoffs now is hopefully we can start seeing Jamar Taylor and Will Davis play instead of Jimmy Wilson and RJ Stanford. Jesus. Don't even get me started on Dion Jordan. Guy had a great pass rush again today and then we take him off. wtf.

When I see Tannehill, I see a Qb who has "it".
When I see out offensive line...I worry for Tannehill's future, guy will look down the field and try to make it happen, his offensive line fails him time after time after time.
I think our Wr/Te/Rb is a great situation, I think THill is our future Qb.
I think every offensive lineman, including Pouncey, should worry about their jobs.
Further, think Sherman does not adjust to what he has to work with, not what he would like to work with..that sweep in the EZ for a safety was totally predictable..yet he called it anyway.phintasmic, MikeHoncho and PhinsRDbest like this. -
I will admit that he did pick up some nice blitzes tonight. -
Dropping Wallace would be massively foolish, problem is Tannehill only clicks with guys he worked with last yr, think about that for a moment.
Matthews was a inactive last yr, tonight he looked like an all pro, Caly came from nowhere as well, this is how Tannehill deals with his guys...he has rapport or the guy looks out of place.phintasmic and DPlus47 like this. -
Wallace just needs to grow a pair and start playing like someone who wants 60M dollars, instead of someone who already has them. Dude acting like he really does not even give a crap out there.
Aside from that, I could almost accept the underwhelming linebacker play, because we did get Gibson, who was breaking out and Grimes, who is a stud. However, the O-line is just abysmal. This is the real issue and it is completely game breaking. The O-line is completely sinking the team.Claymore95 and Fin D like this. -
THill was sacked what..twice?
Problem was, they were key sacks, as per usual, at some point even "Coach Joe" will be like "can't trust those guys" -
I hope everyone gets my take on Miller during the offseason when all I heard was about speed and 1500 yards.

To continue with the same lineup is simply insane.

Not playing the draft class is a failure in itself.
Last year the Colts used their draft class and made the playoffs. Rookies should be in the games playing with veterans or something is wrong. Vick Ballard had over 800 yards on the ground. Luck, obviously, was outstanding. Dwayne Allen & TY Hilton looked like more than rookies.
Now it is hard to have that much success, but why settle for less? Even if we had just TWO players contributing it would be nice.Bumrush likes this. -
how hard is it to run swing passes/checkdowns to our rb with 4.3 speed if we cant run the ball? how hard is it to move mike wallace around sometimes in slot to create mismatches? how hard is it to understand that you shouldn't keep running edge runs with the worst offensive tackles in history? how hard is it to have your qb use his 4.5 speed when the are 10 yds of space in front of him? how hard is it to understand that if you have success in hurry-up, then maybe you should run that until it stops working?

Skill positions are fine, we need a big back though, Daniel Thomas is a bust.
We have our quarterback.
We need, perhaps and ENTIRE offensive line. We are in week ****ing 9. There are zero solutions internally.
Moving forward, after Ireland and Turner are gone, maybe we can assemble a semblance of an offensive line. The Bears blew up their entire line this past offseason, so there is a sample to use. Our issue though is, once again we have to overdraft a position, completely forgetting other positions. We could have big problems at defensive tackle and our #1 corner is playing on a one year deal.DPlus47 likes this. -
Well, to sum up the 2013 Dolphins:
Soft
Just watch games, and you can see it, from Miller not breaking tackles, to Lb's rarely filling holes and stuffing Rb's, to ST's not blocking well.
Think about this, Thigpen with no blocking at all, did better than when we actually had their gunners covered, that screams SOFT -
It just flashed in front of me- Disjointed.
I think it is becoming clear that this could be a locker room issue, regardless of the Martin situation. CK had hinted in the past that pieces Ireland assembles don't mesh well. Seems like we have talent but not the type of talent that can play congruently.
To me that falls more on the GM not having a solid philosophy of how his team is assembled. -
When our guys contact opponents, do they fall forward, or do they knock us backwards?
When our offensive players contact opponents..do they fall forward, or do our guys fall backwards?
This is what I'm seeing, and in all 3 units. -
-
Amazing that the offensive line has ****ed us both on and off the field. That one unit has completely ruined our once promising season.

Ideally it would be Wallace v the Safety w/Wallace heading towards the EZ forcing the safety to either int, or cause a PI penalty.
Revis had leverage underneath, the ball HAD to be thrown further down the fieldGMJohnson likes this. -

Now if they rolled THill out, and used that arm strength of his..absolutely, currently however he is anchored in the pocket..and a sitting duck.
That falls on Sherman.
IDK why they are treating a Rich Gannon type Qb like Craig MortonDPlus47 likes this. -
