I can't wait for this movie my third most anticipated behind The Dark Knight (numero uno) and then x-files 2 with iron man right there. I think this willl be one of the best comic book movies easilly. Should compete with the likes of spiderman very well.

Is Jackson's Fury In Iron Man?
Iron Man director Jon Favreau would neither confirm nor deny the persistent rumors that the upcoming superhero film will include a cameo appearance by Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury, agent of the top-secret S.H.I.E.L.D., a wink at a possible Avengers movie to come.
Recent critics' screenings of Iron Man did not include a Nick Fury sequence, though other S.H.I.E.L.D. agents do appear in the movie. But there's a growing buzz that the scene will appear after the end credits of the prints that will screen in movie theaters once the film opens.
Favreau won't say. "It's hard to keep secrets on these movies," Favreau said in an interview in New York last week. "People are trying to put together the pieces, if Sam is in there, if Hilary Swank is in there. ... I don't want to say anything. I'll leave it at that."
Jackson supposedly shot scenes as the S.H.I.E.L.D. agent for both Iron Man and for The Incredible Hulk, another Marvel Comics-based feature, with the idea being to set the stage for a crossover Avengers movie. (Oscar winner Swank is rumored to play another S.H.I.E.L.D. agent.) And it's been confirmed that Iron Man star Robert Downey Jr. filmed a cameo as Tony Stark that may--or may not--turn up in Hulk. (Attendees at the recent New York Comic Con previewed the footage.)

I'll go The Incredible HULK, Iron Man and The Dark Knight for this summer. With Indiana Jones close behind! -
I've been very excited about taking the family to see Iron Man. Too bad they didnt have these kind of quality films when we were kids huh!

Entertainment Tonight attended the Iron Man premiere and got a chance to speak to Viacom and CBS Executive Chairman Sumner Redstone and Paramount Pictures CEO Brad Grey who said that if the movie does as well as expected, the studio will be looking to release the sequel in 2010.
What's interesting is that The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader has already "claimed" the first weekend of the summer that year (May 7, 2010), but if you look at the calendar, Iron Man 2 could easily open on April 30, which is a Friday, essentially giving it almost a similar release date as the first film.
Oh! And while press screenings did not have a certain scene after the credits, when Iron Man is released in theaters tonight, it IS expected to have it... so, be sure to stay after the credits!

sounds good to me! I LOVE the development of everything... From the interviews I've read it sounds as though Jon Favreau is not only interested in directing the Avengers but also pitched an idea at MARVEL!!! I think MARVEL wants to release Captain America, Ant man and Thor first though...
Yeah, when we were kids this stuff was but a dream... Now a reality we can share with our kids! -
I saw it last night...very good movie.
Very funny too....it had a few jokes in there that will make you laugh.
The visual effects were nice - kinda looked transformerish, story/plot was interesting, better movie than i expected, Downey jnr is very good in it and plays it so well.... -
Iron Man has received a 96% rating on RottenTomatoes and right now is the best rated movie of the year. Plan on going to see it tomorrow.

Movie was good, cast was great across the board. Really looking forward to seeing Dark Knight after the trailer. I love RDJ, glad to see him in a movie like this so more people can appreciate his work.

Saw it last night, was a great movie. Prolly best script of any comic book movie. Downey was perfect to play Starke. Going to see it again with my son tomorrow. First time since I can remeber going back to see a movie twice.

Downey Jr. was really good in this movie. Perfect for the role. I don't know how many people are into the comics but I grew up on them and he was perfect as Tony Stark. Bridges was really good as well.
-
Great casting, great script, great movie.
-
Iron Man was truly superb. When I first heard that RDJ was being cast as Stark, I was skeptical - much like TM as PP in Spider-Man. But man, Robert nailed the role just like Tobey did.
I did have an "Oh No!" moment as a dad, though. I took my sons, who are 9 and 7. If this is a minor spoiler, I apogize and just ignore the rest of this post and move on down *** but early in the film when Stark propositions the gorgeous news lady and then next thing you know she's straddling him in the sack, my youngest son busted out, "Dad, what are they doing???" real loud. Everybody around us burst out laughing. Embarrassed, I just mumbled, "They're kissing. Shut your eyes!"
Er, yeah, great, great movie. And excellent cast and story.TheAnswer385, unifiedtheory and Ludacris like this.
