Just wondering what all of you think about possibly drafting Illinois Linebacker J Leman in the 3rd or 4th round. Being an Illini fan, I've seen pretty much every game he's played the past four years and the dude just flat out makes plays. He also (to use football cliche) has a great motor. He's led the Big 10 in tackles at least for the last two seasons and is great at fighting off blocks from guys that outweigh him by 100 pounds. He would be a great replacement for Zach in the middle and many people compare him to a Thomas or Offerdahl type player. Just wondering what you all think.

I love him, I'm a PSU fan. I would be astounded if he last to the 3rd round at this point, and if we passed on him I might cry. He is always around the ball, and gives everything he has on every play.

I think he is a very good player.
I REALLY WOULD BE SUPRISED if he is on the board in the 3-4 round though.
he is a mid 2nd very early 3rd at the least.

STITCHES GOOD TO SEE A FAMILURE FACE ALTHOUGH WE DID NOT AGREE A ALL THE TIME ON THE OLD FIN HEAVEN BOARD.

If we draft him with the first pick of the 3rd round, that would be my happiest Dolphin draft moment since we took Marino (and I was only 2 years old then, so I'm not sure that counts) lol. Then in 2 years, we draft Arellious Benn, and we'll be all set.

Aren't you the same person who made a topic 3-4 years ago that we SHOULD draft Tony Romo during the Wannstedt era?

If so, I think we should draft this J Leman dude. ahahaha Very good call. lol

I really like his ability to get off blocks. A few weeks back, I asked Boomer (who's opinion I respect) about him, and he was worried that Leman may be too slow. But, what good is a slightly faster guy who can't get off blocks and make a play? That's about all we have on this team, except maybe Porter, but even he seems to get locked up a lot.

Another LB that I saw able to get off blocks was Jasper Brinkley from South Carolina...don't know if he got a medical red shirt for last year or not though.

I didn't get to watch much of Illinois, but when I did, he looked fantastic. I'm usually very critical of most linebackers, but drafting Leman to replace Zach would make the draft for me.

I'd be shocked to see him past the 2nd. I have no idea where he'll time/measure out, and I really don't care. Dude has a true talent for playing MLB, and that's not something you can make up for running a 4.3 in your underwear.
I don't get too much into the draft this early, but he's definitely the guy I want us to draft the most.

i like him but could see him falling to the fourth. he runs a very low 40 which will scare some teams away (which i disagree with) not to mention a number of ILB prospects are moving up draft boards while he is staying put but anything can change between now and april

No problem there, as he will play the final game of his senior season on January 1st.

Havent scouted Illinois this year but Ive heard really good things about him. This board seems to reenforce those opinions

Are you thinking of James Hardy? WR from Indiana.

Or Laurenitis who is a MLB from Ohio State?

I'm not too concerned about his 40. In fact, I hope it comes in towards the unimpressive side. I don't want any of the Tampa 2 teams coveting him.
