I mean, some remakes are okay. But not this one. This has dumb written all over it. No one can do what Pat Morita did for Mr. Miyagi. And how can you tell this story with a 10 year old kid? This is going to be a complete waste.
Jaden Smith has found himself a mentor. Jackie Chan will take on Pat Morita's Mr. Miyagi role in Sony Pictures' remake of The Karate Kid. The movie stars 10-year old Smith (The Pursuit of Happyness), who is the son of Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith, and will be directed by Harold Zwart (The Pink Panther 2).

God I can't stand Will Smith's annoying son. Ruined the day the earth stood still remake and will surely ruin this remake as well.

Hmm...not so sure about this one...Pat Morita was "Mr. Miyagi"...Ralph Macchio was 29 but looked 12..

The first Karate Kid was actually really good, IMO. -

Wax on, whacks off. Keep this one on the shelf and make a film adaption of The Andy Griffith Show or something.
-
I'll probably end up seeing it to see what Jackie Chan's spin would be on the character.

Isn't Jackie Chan kind of old for Daniel-San?

Im not saying I don't enjoy the karate kid or think its a good movie, but I look at it as a fun time movie anyways. So seeing jackie chan and a younger kid in it or new spin, will be alright with me.

Cobra Kai rules!!!
LOL...Everytime I play MLB The Show '08 I hear this:
No More Kings
Sweep The Leg lyrics
I didn't see it coming
Creeping up from behind
I was almost swallowed whole
By the thrill of the fight
It wasn't for the money
And it wasn't just for fun
I wanted to make a mark
I just wanted to be someone
I heard the devil whisper
In my ear, uh huh
He made his message clear
When he said
Sweep the leg, Johnny
Sweep the leg, Johnny
Sweep the leg, Johnny
Oh good god, now you gotta believe me
It never really mattered
I was always under control
Monkey hear, monkey think
There is no fear in this Dojo
I was a superhero
King of 1985
I showed no mercy
I was always Cobra Kai
But I caught a crane kick
To the face, uh huh
I guess he sealed my fate
When he said
Sweep the leg, Johnny
Sweep the leg, Johnny
Sweep the leg, Johnny
Oh good god, now you gotta believe me
Good god, you gotta believe me
I heard the devil whisper in my ear -
This is purely a Will Smith promo vehicle for his son.
Studio makes so much off of Smith that it problably green lighted this turkey not wanting to piss Smith off.
...and a TURKEY gentlemen is exactly what this is.
