Jalen Ramsey is headed to the AFC North. According to multiple reports, the Steelers have agreed to acquire Ramsey from the Dolphins.
Ramsey confirmed the news with a video posted to social media.
While terms of the deal were not immediately reported, Ramsey is set to receive a $1.5 million raise in 2025 to make his salary $26.6 million. Ian Rapoport of NFL Media noted that the Rams were another team heavily involved in Ramsey trade talks.
The Dolphins made it known that Ramsey would be available via trade earlier in the offseason and it became clear that the two parties would not reconcile.
Ramsey, 30, started all 17 games for the Dolphins last season, recording two interceptions, 11 passes defensed, and a sack. The three-time All-Pro and seven-time Pro Bowler will now play for his fourth team.
This trade continues an uncharacteristic offseason for the Steelers, who also brought in high-profile players like DK Metcalf, Darius Slay, and most recently quarterback Aaron Rodgers. -
Minkah Fitzpatrick is being sent back the the Dolphins and Jonnu Smith is also being traded to Pittsburgh for a late round pick.

Safety Minkah Fitzpatrick is headed back to the team that drafted him. The Dolphins have acquired Fitzpatrick in exchange for Jalen Ramsey, PFT has confirmed. Ramsey’s trade to the Steelers was reported earlier on Monday.
Fitzpatrick, 28, was a Dolphins first-round pick in 2018 but was traded to the Steelers early in the 2019 season in a deal that included Pittsburgh’s 2020 first-round pick. Fitzpatrick has since become a three-time All-Pro and a five-time Pro Bowler.
Fitzpatrick started all 17 games last season, recording 96 total tackles, four passes defensed, an interception, and a forced fumble. He led the league with six interceptions in 2022.

You would have to think with Miami now being 20+ under the cap that a couple of more moves are in the works.
There are rumors swirling around Michael Mayer, Kyle Pitts and even Mark Andrews' name has been mentioned.

Steelers are obviously going all in. This is probably Tomlin's last year if he doesn't win a couple of playoff games.

I wish Miami kept Jonnu Smith. But if we can get a Kyle Pitts, that'd be good. I'd also see if we can get Elijah Higgins back.

I wonder what Fitzpatrick is thinking/feeling right now. We have a new HC and DC, so it’s not the same leadership that was here when he was, so there’s that.
PS. Would love to see Pitts in Miami; I think he was criminally underused in Atlanta. The Falcons are (reportedly) fed up with waiting for him to measure up to his draft status.

I think his beef was strictly with Flores. As I said before, while I do believe that Flores got screwed over by ownership, he still did some very questionable things as a coach, such as how responded to Kenny Stills criticism of the NFL.

More details of the trade sending cornerback Jalen Ramsey from Miami to Pittsburgh are coming to light.
When Ramsey went on the trade market early in the offseason, there was a lot of discussion about whether the Dolphins would pick up a significant chunk of his salary to facilitate a move. Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reports that the Dolphins will pay Ramsey $3 million in addition to $4 million they have already paid him this year. The Steelers will pick up the remainder of the corner’s $26.6 million salary.OwesOwn614 likes this. -
And yet, I'm watching the national panel shows and every single one of them is talking about this solely from the Steelers' perspective. Don't know if it's because Ramsey is seen as the biggest name and it culminates months of his BS, but ESPN talked about it for 15 minutes and you wouldn't know that we were part of the news. Same with CBS Sports, where a guy criticized us for giving Ramsey the raise without applying the context of his soft holdout to get it. Even Rich Eisen went on for awhile, only talking about how it reflects a change in offseason strategy for the Steelers.
I guess the news is that the Steelers got Ramsey, not that he was traded for Minkah Fitzpatrick. We're an afterthought to the third-best team in the AFC North. I'm officially ready for training camp to begin so we can hopefully prove these people wrong. -

Hey didn't want to play for Flores, and then Flores came to Pittsburgh 1 year or 2 later lol.
But I have seen some content creators talking about how he didn't want to be used as such a Swiss army knife and be used all over the field and wanted to be that pure traditional safety that he was so good at, but then a couple years later he came out and said I get it now and liked being able to take on more and be so versatile.Tuanon4Life likes this. -
I think it was more a case of Minkah not wanting to play for a team that was tanking and had no intention of trying to win. That's a big deal for REAL football players.

Wild trade for the Steelers. Giving up Fitz to get Ramsey is a head scratcher, and Jonnu simply isn't a player they need. But whatever, it turned a few negative situations into potentially positive ones.
As for TE, I am a hard pass on Pitts unless it's like a 7th. He feels like a bad culture guy. Mayer or Andrews would be fine.
