I went to NYC for the motorcycle show and have never seen more gear that the tag had just been cut off of in my life. It was like Modells without the cash register.

It's amazing. It's been the same forever. Dolphins in the 1970's, 49ers in the 1980's, Cowboys in the 1990's, Patriots in the 2000's....I never see anyone wearing a 49er's hat or jacket anymore. Before 2000 I knew 1 Patriots fan outside of the New England area. ONE. Now I see them everywhere.

I tutor a Thai kid who moved to America 3 months ago. He doesn;t know English yet and has no clue what football is all about. He is a Jets fan.

Every team has it's fair share of part-timers. NY just has more idiots to choose from.

There's a poll [Harris poll I think] of like 3000 people every year on what team is their favorite. This year the Saints jumped to number 5 for the first time ever. 3000 people obviously isn't definitive, but it does show you how people are. During the Marino years the Dolphins were top 5 as well, and gradually fell to the middle after.
It's also magnified here because this area has the biggest population, so it's more noticeable. -
Those Cowboy fans are hiding somewhere...

I remember the Rams' "Greatest Show on Turf" era. Everyone were wearing Rams jerseys. Luckily, it was short-lived. I don't see those jerseys anymore.

I wonder how many Packer fans who gave up when Favre retired like Dolphin fans who gave up right after Marino retired are suddenly big Packers fans again now that they're back in the SB.
Speaking of Favre....imagine if the Packers hopefully win the Super Bowl. What a great year he is having! ;] -

I'm friends with a lot of Giants fans, and suddenly once the Giants were out of the playoffs they seemingly all became die hard Jets fans. Strange phenomenon indeed.
