Winning the game:
Always love to beat the Jets. Especially holding them to 3 points over 2 games. Even though the game didn’t “feel” like an *** kicking, ultimately when you hold a team, no less a divisional opponent to 3 points that’s huge.
Offense:
There is just something wrong with the offense. Jets are stout against the run and our 2 best RB’s were out, but the ground game was nonexistent for most of the game. Receivers aren’t getting any separation making tough throws on almost every play. Parker with 8/119 was nice to see. Fitz missed several throws, by a lot. 151 yards. The same output that Tua has been giving. Maybe it’s not the QB??? TE play has been good. This is an area were we’ve previously struggled. But Rushing offense and total offense are ranked 30th and passing 25th. Were winning, which don’t get me wrong I love, but I kinds feel like were a little fraudulent.
Special Teams:
Jason Sanders is a machine and the 50 yarders are money. Haack is punting well and the coverage team are making the plays.
Defense:
X Man’s ability to be in the right position to pick balls or even pass defenses has been outstanding this year. His passer rating against is 50.3. Van Noy is playing like he did for the Pats and Ogbah has been an unexpected beast this year. 2 great offseason signings. Van Ginkel’s speed and hair flying is awesome to watch. This group is why ere in the playoff hunt IMO. It was great to get Wilkins back. He’s a force that was occupying 2 people almost the entire game. Holding the Jets to just 87 yards rushing and 173 passing is great but it seems like we have been giving up those chunk plays too often.
Overall it's great to be relevant and a trip to the playoffs would be nice, but I'm just not seeing a deep run IMO.

Regarding the defense, we're now #2 in points allowed per game, trailing only Pittsburgh. In only 3 out of 11 games have we allowed more than 21 points, when league average ppg is ~25. Really allows us to focus on offense in the draft and FA next year. Get that right and we should be legit contenders.

Our defense has been pretty solid and great, but it still has holes that need to be plugged to actually compete with top offenses that arent the Jets, Jags, Rams or 49ers with a QB who is so hurt he cant throw a pass correctly.
That said I do think we are looking offense early as well which is the right route to go in my opinion. -

Sorry my bad 257. I was looking at the wrong stat. The game you watched did you think he was lighting it up? That receivers were running open? Maybe its the scheme that people have tape on now and are defending it. He took 4 sacks. 3 of them coverage sacks IMO. People are just not getting open but that's Tua's fault. Gailey needs to come up with something because against the Chiefs and Bills I think were going to need to score points.
Did you see that hit on Josh Allen? I thought he was going to be done for the year the way they bent his leg back. -
Besides, many of the draft picks won't pan out, so it's worth spending more to make it really likely we have the necessary talent at WR/TE etc. As you said, they're not getting enough separation. -
I’d take Chase or either one of the Alabama WR’s in the first. Think you go defense with our other first rounder. Take a strength and make it stronger. I think OL/RB in 2nd and 3rd rounds.
For those of you who have watched every game, is the problem with our run defense at DT or MLB? -
The offense isn't dynamic by any stretch. But the good thing about this team right now (even with a lack of offensive playmakers and consistent performance) is the fact that it's not putting the defense in tough situations. When your offense has a lot of turnovers and 3-and-outs deep on your side of the field, it stresses even the best defense and we're not doing that. I'm not worried because I feel like we're playing with house money this year. Next year's draft should result in skill players and depth that will allow us to put games away much sooner.
