Must see show. Marino, Elway and Namath on. Montana could not make it. Great insight into these 3 HOF QBS.
I never knew Marino looked up to namath so much.

This show is a snooze fest without this guy.
But might have to check it out to see Marino. -
I have said many times Marino is a top 3 QB of all time, why the hate? -
-
Namath should be honored to be in the same room as those other QB's. -
Actually I thought it was hilarious when Joe hit on Suzy. I thought it just made him all the more human and likeable. Like, hey, thats joe. Ive heard Marino is a jerk in person(Ive never met him) and he seems like that personality type. Nonetheless, hes still my favorite player of all time, even if he probably is a jerk. And Namath, thats his personality, he was lounging down here having a great time the day before the Super Bowl and sonofabitch won. I actually like the guy. He seems like the kinda guy you wished was on your football team even though you hate Jets. Heck, I even think Jim Kelly was a pretty damn QB for the Bills, and if I must say so, was just about as unlucky as Marino. You just gotta separate the uniform from the man, is all and recognize what they all brought to the game.

Montana, on the otherhand, way overrated. -

dan marino is a system" - Bill Walsh

He played 13 seasons.
Win loss record? 62-63-4
Did he ever lead the league in passer rating? Nope. His best year was a 74.3 in 1969. His career passer rating was 65.5 (I did a double take when I saw that).
How many times did he lead the league in touchdown passes? Once in 1972. He did lead the league in interceptions 4 times though.
Lifetime touchdown to interception ratio? 173:220.
Career completion percentage? 50.1. He hit less than 50% of his passes in a season 7 times in 13 years.
He lead his teams to a grand total of 3 playoff games. 3.
Now, some of these numbers are low in comparison to todays statistics. It was routine for QB's to have completion percentages around 52-53% in that era, it was a downfield passing era. That said, calling Namath a "pretty damn good QB" and calling Joe Montana overrated? Well, the numbers speak for themselves. -

You talk the best QBs ever you definately say Dan Marino and Joe Montana. John Elway is not too far behind them, but Joe Namath? LOL...he's not even considered in the top 50 all-time is he? :pointlol: -

Saw the show the other night. Must've been a replay. Was good to see Danny in the kind of setting. He was his usual humble and modest self, even when Buck heaped all kinds of praise on him. Namath was entertaining. Still a cool dude. And, old horse mouth? Well...he's still a jerk IMO. Too bad Montana couldn't be there. That would've been way cool!
