"I couldn't get my balance all preseason,'' he said. "It was an entirely different way of doing things for me."
That transition from left to right, as a rookie learning on the pro level, was probabaly tough, it did look like it was a balance issue..
As far as where's he's at now, well, his pass protection lets just say is getting the job done, it ain't pretty all the time that's for sure, but he's a rook, learning a new position, so I'll take it.
Foot speed, strength, and creating some explosiveness, if he can improve those physical things, it would be nice for our oline's potential next year..imagine not having to spend any resources on the oline.

Good stuff, Deej. Thanks. The knee-jerk reactions from some of this fan base gets out of hand at times, especially when it comes to calling a draft pick a bust during his rookie preseason while neglecting the impact a position change from LT to RT can have on a player.

Looks like all the reps we force fed him during training camp/preseason are paying off. That decision was questioned at the time, but the constant repetition has helped him get comfortable quicker. The position still isnt second nature to him yet. He'll continue to get better just in that regard alone, aside from developing as a player...
