Jay Glazer reports that Jon Martin had a "freak out" at practice and walked out. Supposedly, somebody played a joke on him and he flipped his lid.

Jonathan Martin threw a fit after a cafeteria prank on Monday. Prank was for everyone to leave table when last guy sits down. Jonathan Martin was last guy. Slammed tray down. Team dismissed him/he left to seek counseling/take a break.

Apparently the "prank" was that when hew as the last guy to sit at the table in the cafeteria everybody else got up (brilliant, original prank by the way fellas, glad to see you're concentrating so hard on important stuff and not the 4 game losing streak)
The whole thing is ridiculous and just yet another typical event in Dolphinsland, where the abnormal is normal.ASOT, Bpk, Vinny Fins and 1 other person like this. -

Mando now reporting that the teammates got up as a joke because Martin was ill, not in some 80s teen movie prank of getting up because they don't like him.
If that's the case then Martin really overreacted and probably has some deeper issues.ASOT, Bpk, Frumundah Finnatic and 1 other person like this. -
It is one thing to show emotion on the field and this helps your play on the field. It is completely not normal behavior to react to a prank by causing such a commotion that you are sent home when the team has a game tomorrow and now won't even be playing in this game.
I've never felt that Martin was anything but a very mediocre offensive lineman and after this type of behavior, perhaps the organization will realize that they need to look for his replacement, once this season is over. -
"emotional breakdown yesterday, currently away from the team with his family" Darlington on NFL network. Awesome

Guys, if he's having some kind of mental/emotional issue, let's have a little class and wish him better health.

Hopefully he can get some help with whatever the issue is. -
Lost in this, and some of the joking that even I have done. I wish him well. I have more than my share of experience dealing with the mentally ill and it's a long, tough road. I sincerely hope he just "lost it a little" and it is not a symptom of something much more serious.

If there is hazing incidents at colleges and High Schools the coach is responsible. He's in charge. You set up an environment where that kind of stuff is either ok or its not.Bpk and Unlucky 13 like this. -

The team morale is in the toilet and the panic button has been pressed. Only a win can save this team now, and even then, too many players are speaking out of school.CashInFist, mi2cents, DePhinistr8 and 10 others like this. -
