Everything from the deep ball, Dallas Thomas, getting out of rhythm, pass protection, etc.

The thing about Dallas Thomas and the offensive line is that they have to do a better job of keeping the offense in more beneficial down-and-distance situations. This team doesn't play well in 3rd and long, and it doesn't play well trying to come back from a deficit that makes it have to pass predominantly. When the Elvis Dumervils of the world can pin their ears back against Dallas Thomas, obviously that advantage, combined with the talent of the likes of Dumervil, is going to overwhelm Dallas Thomas's ability. In fact I'd consider calling things like draws and middle screens on 3rd and long more often, simply to slow down the pass rushers and nullify some of the advantage gained by them when they can predict a deep pass dropback and the ability to tee off on the lineman and the QB.

He'll be an NFL head coach someday. But it'll most likely be for another team.

I don't think Lazor has done anything to guarantee a continued job in the NFL as an offensive coordinator, much less garner attention as a head coach.

Obviously Bill, if you want to fix the deep ball....send Brian Hartline deep!!!

I'm not sure if Lazor is a great coach, or just fantastic with expressing himself. I like the guy.

He's an intelligent guy who is well spoken. Not only does he answer the questions well but he also avoids the set-ups the reporters try and throw him. I can definitely see HC material in the making. It doesn't hurt that he looks a bit like Coach Taylor from the Friday Night Lights TV show.

Dude can't playcall, he needs to focus on it and learn to playcall on game days. He is the main reason we lost 5 games.

I don't hate Lazor but he's no Chip Kelly. I wouldn't gamble on him for our next HC vacancy. Too inconsistent. Gus Malzahn, Harbaugh, or Rex for me. No more rookies learning on the job.

Later in the interview, he stated more than once that Philbin has created an extremely "professional atmosphere", seemingly going out of his way to say that the professionalism from his players "comes down to Joe Philbin and how he's built this team."
I have to agree. Like him or dislike him, his players, even in interviews, respect Philbin enough to not throw anyone under the bus. It is reflective of what he is building. I am not saying he should be retained, but his players do respect him, and this tells me he must do a lot behind the scenes to garner this kind of respect. This is a very good thing. Even after Odrick's sideline outburst, the post-game interview was "matter of fact". It did not get out of hand, which, again, tells me that Philbin conducts things very professionally. This is one quality I really do appreciate about Philbin.Larry Little, Fins Hipster and Hobiesailor like this. -

Nobody with two eyes believes Hartline is a better deep threat than Wallace. I don't needto defend something so obvious.gunn34 likes this. -
Philbin's act only goes so far. -

What is happening this year does not feel like an act. It seems genuine, regardless of the catalyst. I truly appreciate it, even if he does ultimately lose his position. -

And, I can say with full confidence that this offense is PERFECT for Tannehill's skillset. What is holding back Tannehill are a bad offensive line, no real threat at running back, and Tanny's own inability to avoid pressure in the pocket.
It ABSOLUTELY is not Lazor's version of Kelly's zone read offense that is holding him back in any way. Period. -
You will find a head scratcher or two in just about any NFL game. But as a whole? Lazor is just fine.Larry Little likes this. -

Lazor is doing a decent job with the skill set imo, but both he and Ryan need to embrace it more and start to practice certain aspects of it so we can all get the most out of it..
having 2/7 yards in the seasons most pivotal home game is not acceptable, your leaving skill set on the field in a loss. -

I love how every thread since the Ravens game, turns into a search for a new head coach.

Everybody is turning into Ross. Can we at least wait until Philbin is fired? I don't think that is going to happen, I think he gets one more year. Either way, I refuse to entertain these head coach search discussions, until Philbin is fired.
