Hear me out. We need the #5 seed , face Hou and Oakland, without their qb's.

I think we can beat Pitt. Gonna have to play NE no matter what. -

if chiefs win today, it assures us a playoff spot but also pretty much assures us the 6 seed. thats fine.
if broncos win, we have to win next week and i cant think of anyone that would give better 50/50 or better to win that game. go chiefs -

jboogie The sky is NOT falling!
If the texans beat the Mariota-less titans we face texans in the first round instead of the Steelers or Ravens. So, let's root for KC and the Texans!

In this scenario you're asking for the Chiefs to end the season on a 3 game tailspin, after winning what was it 9 in a row ? They finish up @ San Diego, who just lost to Cleveland. You'll also need Denver to lose next week to a Carr-less Raiders in Denver. That on top of having to beat the Patriots without Tannehill.
You're also asking for us to play NE with our backs to the wall, riding Ajayi to another heavy workload, etc. It could still very likely turn out that we were getting the 6th seed all along, Denver prolonging it tonite would just make us fight for our lives not knowing the outcome of their 4:00 game.
Best case scenario is clearly to clinch A spot before having to play, otherwise we have to win or hope Denver can't beat McGloin!Last edited: Dec 25, 2016Superself, shula_guy and PhinFan1968 like this. -
this thread is preposterous and I wish SHAME on all associated with it's creation!

Because the Chargers suck and wont beat KC

You have to think long term. A 5 seed matches us up against Hou and Oakland. Very favorable to get to the AFCC. A 6 is against Balt/Pitt and NE. That recipe is one and done. Rather not make the playoffs than to lose first game

We can go into the Pats game knowing that it's not our last game! They would have more to lose than us ! We can limit the vets snaps and play with the new toys a little bit on offense ! Put Tunsil at LT, let Maxwell heal. We should consider protecting Moore.
Instead of "thinking long term" or in this case... Looking month ahead to the AFC championship. Think about getting into the playoffs first. Miami odds greatly decrease with a KC loss tonite. 100% vs 50/50 5seed vs. OUT.Last edited: Dec 25, 2016 -
btw: Gonna say the Chargers show up next week. Potential last game ever in SD

Dirtylandry, what you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent post were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this forum is now dumber for having read it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

Anyone see the Baltimore Phins game a few weeks back?

And people think my post was insane. I want the easier road to the afcc even if it means clinching next week instead. The mentality of wildcard fans is ask for help. The mentality of championship fans want them to win it next week

Matt's Dad is posting?

Uhhhh. NO?
**** the road and 'making it easier'. How about we get a guaranteed trip?
Id rather make it and get knocked out in the first round then have to beat NE to make it and more than likely get NOTHING. Thats so ridiculous. . . we havent had playoffs in near a decade and youre concerned with seeding...
If DEN wins and we dont beat NE you guys are gunna be feeling PREEETTYYYY dumb.

Headline news. You are gonna have to beat NE one way or the other

News flash, who cares? lets get to the ****ing playoffs and worry about it later. You essentially kiss the playoffs goodbye if DEN wins today. wegave up 600 yards to the bills and 400 passing yards to the niners and ravens. What do you think tom brady is going to do to us week 17? or even their backup? lets make the ****ing dance even if we lose there. dont be insane.
Newsflash 2x : We arent winning the superbowl.resnor likes this. -
In an attempt to get a better seed youre gunna probably miss the playoffs completely. this is nuts.

Go Chiefs and Steelers. I want the Steelers in the 1st round.

In 2008 we made the playoffs. What did that accomplish? A 9 year droughr

I'm not sure what to think, or who to root for. The Carr injury is HUGE as Denver has a decent chance of beating a backup QB at home next week, so we'd have to worry about needing a win versus the Pats. All of that goes away with a Chefs win today.
On the OTHER hand, going back to Baltimore for another train wreck of a game as the #6 seed? How is that appealing? Just so we can say we made the playoffs? We seemed to match up better versus the Steelers, but a healthy Ben changes things a lot too.
Having to face Houston as the #5 seed? Not scary at all. I'm selfish, I want to make the playoffs AND get a win there.
There are more things to consider though: With a Denver loss today, we could treat next week a our 'bye-week' and rest most of the starters. Get some guys healthy (or at least healthier) and we stand a better chance at Ravens/Steelers. Is that better than facing Houston? Probably not, but not the worst situation either.
What will the Pats do next week? Do they need the win to keep from facing the Steelers/Ravens early? Do they want to keep Denver out by getting us to 11 wins? Does Billicheat even care one way or another?
