If we can get a 2nd or 3rd out of Ronnie, pull the trigger.
Ronnie is a good back when he is healthy, but having a back that can only last 1/2 a season is useless. -
more realistically will be a fourth at beststeveincolorado and gunn34 like this. -
We have a number 1 running offense with him in the line up. Is that really worth a 3rd round pick?

That is why we won't see anyone offering up that sort of comp imo. -
I love Ronnie, and think he's a great back, but do it if it's a high pick.

Not a chance. 3rd or 4th is no way good enough for a guy that was near league leaders before the injury...besides, do you think ricky is gonna hold up as the leading back? I have my doubts. that means our 1st pick would be on offense and that would be a mistake IMHO.

Very true.

How can you trade Brown for a 3rd or 4th round pick, even a 2nd IMO? It just does not make sense. If he doesn't finish next season healthy, there is no chance he's going to want top five $, and if he does there is no chance he's getting it. Anywhere. Also this will be the first year he wont be the only offensive threat we have. I don't even want to list the QB's we've had since he's been a dolphin, but it's been a joke at best. Pennington was good, but you can still play the run all day with him at QB. You can't drop him when for the first time he is playing on an all around solid team, regardless of his past injuries.

The Lions? Detroit? I hope we wouldn't do that to Ronnie. But for a 2nd? I could live with it. I'd miss Ronnie to death, but I could live with it. Providing the pick wasn't used on Tebow of course.

I would go for at least a #2 and another pick, either a lower round in this year (4-5) or a 3rd next year. Either that or work out some kind of multi pick deal/swap. Otherwise I dont see the point, even considering Brown might not be a Phin for next year.
-
I'm not sold on Spiller being a replacement for Brown. Not physical enough for me. I say stay put and see if he can make it through the entire season. If he doesn't, he can look for his big pay day somewhere else.

I dont know why everyone is so infatuated with draft picks. Half of them dont pan out. I dont want another Pat White here. And ill take Ronnie over Sean Smith any day.
I wouldnt trade Ronnie for anything less than a 1st, or a 2nd coupled with another pick maybe. Im not saying thats what hes worth....just my opinion of his value to our team.
Another thing.....Dont make Ronnie go to Detroit! He deserves better!.Frumundah Finnatic and Silverphin like this. -
Let me first say that I don't want to see RB traded. This whole injury prone argument doesn't wash with me. Having said that, if we could get a 2nd rounder (thereby replacing the 2nd we gave up to get Marshall), I'd pretty pretty tempted to take it.
Detroit would be a high 2nd rounder to boot. -
Well it's not like we've got that many years of Ronnie left to even begin with. He's already turning 29 and won't get a long-term contract at that age. He's been out with season ending injuries twice. I'll take that second round pick if we make the Marion Barber switch.
A 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 6, 6, 7, 7, 7 draft is pretty interesting. -
This trade makes no sense. The Lions absolutely won't do it.
The reason they are considering a trade in the first place is because they don;t trust Kevin Smith to stay healthy. There is no way their solution to that is to bring in Ronnie Brown, who has injuries every season, just about.first&goal likes this. -
The best we can hope for would be some type of conditional pick for Brown. With his current injury and off the field actions I do not see a team offering much of anything at this time. A 4th that can turn into a 2nd in 2011.
-
We can't do it. Before Ronnie got hurt the Dolphins were the #1 Rushing team, well ahead of everyone else. When you have someone like Revis guarding Marshall, you need your RBs big time. Last year we drafted Pat White with the 2nd pick...
Plus, Ronnie seems to come back strong after being injured, just look at 2008. Hopefully he does the same in 2010. And now that Defenses cant stack the box he wont take as much of a beating.skippysphins and LandShark13 like this. -

I am definitly against trading Brown, there would be no way Detroit gives up the 34 pick for Brown.
