Then it all goes downhill it seems...

From what I read so far this TC I think Henne seems to be doing the best out of the three quarterbacks which IMO is a good thing. What I don't like to hear is our offense can't be effective consistently and the defense dropping easy interceptions.
-
If the offense doesn't take a huge leap by September, it'll be a rough year with few points.
Which would make it even more important for Ginn and Special Teams to score a few.
That said, this is a new offensive system being installed, so after one week we shouldn't expect too much. Still, drops and stuff are ridiculous and not related, imo, to knowing a playbook.
Let's hope this improves. -
I will laugh my *** off if Henne starts.
-
It looks like he is pretty even if not slightly ahead of McCown, & Beck...
I think if they bring in that coke-head, arena bowl QB it would be to take Beck's place as a back-up or 3rd string back-up.
It would really serve notice to him that he needs to get better NOW, not just talk about getting better... -
It would be an extremely embarrassing loss to John Beck to work that hard to prove Cameron was right and then get upset by a guy who hasn't been working for this job as long and is just a rookie.
-
How do you think Huard felt after learning from Dan all those years then being ditched without any chance of even getting to compete for the starting J-O-B. Then going to Kansas City, playing great and still getting constantly dumped on by his coach and GM. Or Sage Rosenfels for that matter, Sage is probably a better QB right now than McCown and Beck ever will be. Henne at least shows more potential...texasPHINSfan likes this. -

What I find interesting is that journalists are saying that Henne is out there playing against second and third stringers while Beck is playing against the first team. McCown is up against the second team. I wonder how Henne and McCown are fairing against the first team offense compared to Beck.

I just hope we don't end up signing that other guy this week. I can't wait until next weekend's game when I can see this stuff with my own two eyes. -

I agree with what Joe Rose said earlier this week about how annoying that blogging ****e can be. They make every little play seem much bigger than it really is. They lack perspective I think, that said I definitely prefer Omar's stuff... -

Does it really matter who the starter is???the only thing that matters is who plays best and gives us the best chance to win.

But, you know the old saying, I'm sure: the most popular guy on the team is the back up QB.
Nonetheless, I think most really want whomever wins the competition to start.
Hopefully, though that player will start because he's doing well; not just because he's not as bad as the others.Kanye West likes this. -

But I also understand where you are coming from. I have always been a guy if I am struggling I will just keep going at it until I get it right. I also feel that some guys on the team do need a day off to reboot. But there are going to be some guys on the team that are not going to enjoy the day off and could lose some newly learned knowlage that is important. -
They may be struggling because they have not seen their loved ones in almost a week.Football is their job.Nothing more. -
A day off is not going to hurt them. I would bet that the struggling players will not take the day off completely. I am pretty sure the QB's will at least review the playbook and try whatever they can on this "day off" to try and get a leg up on things. I were in any of thier shoes I would.

I am jumpin in kinda late on this one but..........if they NEED a day off after 1 week of TRAINING CAMP, we will be in a world of hurt in about 7 more weeks. THEY NEED TO PRACTICE. At least the offense does.
