My cousin sells his college books on Ebay and gets good offers from them.

 

Yup, ebay and half.com would be the best bets IMO.

Or you could try local on craiglist. If you sold cheaper than what the used bookstore price is I'm sure you could move them.

 

these are all good ideas.. also, when i was in school we had a 'book swap' thing online so to speak. basically it was just another venue to sell books directly to other students at your school. win win bc they wouldn't get ripped off by the book store and you wouldn't get $0 for buy back.

i remember our book store would offer us literally 50 cents for books we had paid 30 dollars for only a few months before. then turn around and resell it for 20 dollars again as 'used'. awful

I personally haven't used it, but one of my roommates used it and got a check shortly after he sold the books. From what I remember it was a pretty decent amount. Hope this helps

 

My cheapest book was like 3 times that ($30 I mean), but that's also why I never used the book store after my freshman year.

I paid at least 1/3 what most kids in my class did overall because I got my books offline.


Speaking of which, Clark, never buy books from the book store unless that is the only place that offers it.

 

I never got a book until after I went to the 1st class. I wanted to be sure I needed the book before I bought it. I always borrowed someone elses book or worked with them until mine got shipped.

 

I used half.com all throughout college and never got cheated once.

 

I've had great luck buying and selling on the local craigslist.org -- bought and sold everything from a dog, to a car and a BowFlex.

Free to list; and if buyer is local, you don't need to worry about packaging/shipping.
