i was dumbfounded by the move, iam already on record saying it will be wes welker part two.
Shawn Murphy better become a star because lobook is going to.
Listen, i love the new smashmouth culture that is sweeping south florida, but no one can tell me that a player of bookers talents is not conducive to any system, if iam an offensive cordinator, iam using that boy, screens, draws, traps, split him out wide, put him in the slot, bottom line the dude is a WEAPON.
i love me some Parcells, but this one will have me scratchin my head over for a long time., -

You shouldn't worry about the move in context of Wes Welker (who's overrated anyway), but rather you should be ticked that moving LoBook signals the return of Wannstache's offense.Coral Reefer likes this. -

2nd of all, Welker was going to wear a NE uni no matter what. He was a RFA who signed New England's offer sheet. That offer sheet had a poison pill in it. To avoid having to force the issue with the poison pill (and bad pub) both teams decided to maneuver a trade.
So it was a trade on paper, but it really wasn't. He was as good as gone. WE got an extra 7th out of it.unluckyluciano and alen1 like this. -
Desides, the idea is that in order to acquire a 3rd rounder in the current draft you need to give up a 2nd in the following draft. So by that theory, we got hosed in the Booker trade. I'm unaware of any trade theory that involves 2nd year players garnering a round less compensation than their draft status.

I dont care how anyone spins it, the only way this becomes a good trade is if they know something about Murphy and wanted him really bad and he becomes a star because iam confident lobook will. -

But ultimately, yes, I agree with you, we both got great valuecnc66 likes this. -
LoBook looks good in shorts...big whoop!
If he was so great, why did it take Cam 10 weeks to put him on the active roster?
If he was so great, why did Parcells trade him before even kicking the tires?
My completely uninformed theory is that there's some kind of dirt on the guy. Maybe he falls asleep in meetings or has no idea how to pick up a blitzer. The guy never lived up to the hype in college. He was a super blue chipper in High School and did NOTHING at FSU. There's a pattern here: big talent w/ little production.
And don't get me started on Welker. Gimme Satele every day of the week and twice on Sunday. -
Either way though, I don't think it has anything to do with any dirt on LoBook. It's just that he wasn't a good "fit", which in itself is arguable. -

Something about LoBook doesn't add up. -
I think trading Booker was best for the team and Booker as well.with the players we have,he would not have seen much playing time.I really hope he does well in Philly.I think he will have a dave Megget type career when its all said and done.
One thing I do remember about Booker was on Draft day someone interviewed him and he said he will make every team that passed on him regret it. -
-
I don't think we have even begun to miss Lorenzo Booker as much as we're going to when we see what he does in Philly. And the "He wouldn't have done that on our team" argument that we see (and that I support) with Wes Welker won't hold true, because Lorenzo was showing that talent at the end of last season and making things happen on a very bad team.

While im happy with many moves the new regime has made this was one that was completely uneeded. Booker is a great talent and has more potential than most realize. Just because he didn't fit the parcells type running back shouldnt mean that he should be gone. Parcells will regret this decision.

Probably so.
Still nice to hear a young player with the fire and desire to try and make it happen. -

I don't get it...LoBook has an ok 6 games and suddenly he's the missing link in our offense ?? You can argue that Cam didn't use him correctly, but the fact is he was ok for 6 games. He was ok because we didn't have a running game to speak of and the OL was so porous that we couldn't muster much of a passing game. When they used him to open up the D a little it didn't work for very long. We just didn't see enough to proclaim him a great loss. If Murphy turns into a starter for us, we'll all forget about LoBook, even if he is able to put up numbers in Philly's WCO....
As to Welker...just another decent guy. Sure, he put up great stats with Brady and company, but who on their offense didn't put up great numbers last year ?? WW was a good #3 WR, but his loss was softened by the selection of Satele. A starting center...Look, the #3 WR is on the field (for us in Cam's offense) 40% of the time max...Satele was on the field virtually every offensive down except for some ST plays...give me that any day of the week...
The bottom line is that we are/will be a better team, offensively, with these two trades than with those two players still here...that is the cold hard fact of the situation... -
I hated to see booker go, but he doesn't fit the smashmouth style power running game we are developing and such is life. Not going to lose any sleep over LoBook doing well, in fact I'm very happy for him, hope he does well.
-
I honestly don't care, he's an EAGLE not a DOLPHIN. What little he did here is hardly enough to even put him in the same group a Wes Welker, etc. As far as I'm concerned he's just another blip on the radar.

well without pads he is going to be very impressive

Booker always looks good in shorts. Pads on, he is only good in space, and he doesn't play special teams.
