This is EXACTLY why the NFL doing an exclusive deal with EA was a horrible idea for gamers. You can only work on the same product so long before you decide, "Well, that's about all I can do -- this game is perfect."

Competition breeds creativity.

 

I really liked the ESPN game out a few years ago, the halftime show and Sportscenter were pretty cool features.

I wonder what other uninteresting or tepid gimmick EA will dream up of next. At least ESPN's first person mode was pretty innovating and interesting to play.

Yea, the presentation was seamless. If it had a bit better graphics, you'd swear you were watching ESPN. Ironically, Madden has a "partnership" with ESPN but none of the good things ever appear from it. I didn't think it was possible but the play-by-play from 08 was worse than when Madden and Michaels did it. And everything still looks cartoony.

 

Celebrating in the endzone....15 yard penalty! Just keep making the graphics better, to the point it's real.

 

I dont know about you but I want the sharpie-sign football celebration. That was the ****.

Ah crap.

I remember playing the very first Madden game when it came out and it was more fun the the most recent versions.

I want a football game that plays like a real football game not an arcade game. If I wanted NFL Blitz I'd buy NFL Blitz.

 

I'm still going to buy the game in mid-August and stop playing it around the end of August. Then, it'll sit with the rest of my PS3 games as I hold back on a trade in for whatever stupid reason. End result: it gets traded in for 20 bucks in about January-February of 2009. Basically, $40 difference for starting one or two franchises where I never even get halfway through the first season. It's become a ritual.

I miss the days of Madden back on PS2 where I'd play the damn game straight from August to January-Feb. EA Sports did a horrific job on the transition to next gen.

 

Yes! I've been waiting for user controlled TD celebrations for the past 5 years now. Ahh man, I hope I can do the dirty bird!! So glad they skipped on dumb stuff like gang tackling. Im so happy now. why do i keep buying this game? anyone?

 

Why do Eli Manning and Tom Brady still look like Justin Tuck and Richard Seymour?

These robotic builds are horrific. And wow @ still limiting gang tackles to 2 defenders.

Still no pile ups? In 2008? Madden 09? Next gen? Trash.

 

Madden 09 is going to have where you can have 32 controlled teams play a season against each other. I think we should get a league together shortly after it comes out for those interested.
