Maybe Brandon Marshall is talking up Mallett because they recently became partying buddies. Just sayin.
I'm not sure I trust Ryan as the face of my franchise after he receives his big pay day. I think he's a good guy by nature, but he could become the kid in the arcade whose pockets are full of tokens.
Being forthright and/or apologetic doesn't score points if the person is flashing signs of potential substance abuse problems.
Here's a kid who's being scrutinized for "character related" issues with an admitted history of drug use; the LAST thing he should be doing is prancing around town the night before a meeting with the team picking NUMBER ONE in the draft. Seriously, you've gotta know better than that. If Mallett can have this kind of lapse in judgment, what others will he make? Buyer beware.

Nope, the truth comes out. he didn't skip the meeting and in fact had the meeting, just didn't work out because he was ill. Another hack job by a reporter not doing his job.

Not saying it's true but just a thought:

I love that no one can prove anything, yet when people back Mallett its because they are covering for him.
Well, I hope he falls to Miami much like another reputed bad egg did in 1983!gafinfan likes this. -
I don't know why Charlotte or Chicago reporters would need to spread something false like this and risk damaging any reputation if it weren't accurate. Carolina doesn't have a 2nd round pick and Chicago doesn't need a QB..... and it makes no sense for Carolina (or it's fans, reporters, etc) to leak disinformation about Mallett in order to deter other teams from him b/c, if they want him that badly, no team can leap frog over the #1 pick.
You could argue that they're trying to push him further down the board in an attempt to package their 3rd round pick and next year's 1st, but who in their right mind would want to take Mallett over Andrew Luck (while losing a 3rd rounder in the process)? -
"Believe half of what you see, and none of what you hear."
This has served me well in life.
$10 says this isn't the last 'development' we'll hear about Mallett before next Thursday. Classic tank job IMO in an era of 'first' rather than 'correct'.siciliansith and gafinfan like this. -

You see, when Mallett told Carroll he was turtling it after dinner, Carroll took it as illness related....... but little did he know.Frumundah Finnatic, SICK and PhinsRDbest like this. -

Can we do the Arkansas draft next year? I'm fine with Greg Childs & Knile Davis if you'd like to take them 1 & 2. lol.

It shows how much bs is out there. It also shows that most "journalists" aren't worth a nickel. And websites like that POS proofootballtalk are more than happy to print as many lies as possible just to drive "views" it is really ashame that anyone has to go through it.

I'm just saying that I'm not going to buy anything I hear between now and next Thursday for as long as I watch the draft. Especially when the smear campaign has already in full effect on said player. Unless it comes out of the player's mouth, of course.
Obviously I like Mallett. But it wouldn't matter if it were Cam Newton or anyone else. Tis the season. ;) -

Disgraceful hack journalism.
The Chicago reporter that broke this said he had an impeccable source. That would mean someone who followed Mallett around whilst "out on the town" and saw what he drank, etc. Surely.
Or maybe Mallett didn't want to blow the chance of going #1 overall when he was feeling ****ty and knew he hadto go workout for the team with the #1 pick. He was and potentially still is one of 8 players in play for the #1 pick.Frumundah Finnatic and siciliansith like this. -
