Wasn't it Armando who said that a 3 technique tackle is responsible for three gaps along the defensive front?
I think so. And after such stupidity nothing he says means much to me. Just ridiculous.Phins_Fan_87, brandon27, SICK and 2 others like this. -
The Club Level here will give you more info that he ever will. And just so you know he has definitively taken topics from this board and used them as his topics.
His underling once blatantly plagiarized info Boomer, Ck and myself produced and claimed it was his own even though he was 3 days late in producing it and it was copied word for word.
That's not being the best at anything. You can do better, so don't settle for his writings. You're better than that. -
This comes from probably 4-5 years ago, and when he was called out on it went ape ****. Even without that incident he has produced some crappy articles over the years not based in fact and stretched the definition of hyperbole. -

Armando Salguero is a garbage writer, and I'm skeptical whatever inside sources he has weren't fed to him by Barry Jackson.

Hey, since you're the guy that thinks a player at a certain position foretells what will happen with a different player at the same position, I wonder...is it the same with reporters. I mean can we tell what's going to happen in Armando's future based on what happened to other Dolphin's reporters?danmarino likes this. -
I was wrong to state Armando did it. But I remember there was an article he produced that was simply ridiculous, I cannot remember the exact topic but it was asinine.
Thanks for the correction.:up:danmarino likes this. -

Stills is a hard to find commodity. He opens up the offense in a way only few wrs in the NFL can.
Branch is okay. We paid him what it costs to keep a starting DE in the NFL. Do we look for upgrades? Yes, but we needed him for now.
This team just made the playoffs with a backup QB and no healthy secondary starters. Can they get a *little* faith? -
Branch: 3/8/2017: Signed a three-year, $24 million contract. The deal contains $17 million guaranteed. 2017: $2.9 million (guaranteed), 2018: $7.9 million (guaranteed), 2019: $6.9 million, 2020: Free Agent
Vernon: 3/9/2016: Signed a five-year, $85 million contract. The deal contains $52 million guaranteed. Vernon is eligible for an annual $20,000 workout bonus throughout the contract's life. 2017: $11.75 million, 2018-2019: $15.25 million, 2020: Free Agent

I'm not sure I've ever heard anyone praise Salguero before. This is strange. I remember hearing him on Sirius NFL before. I think it was during the early struggles last year. Even the guys interviewing him were a bit perplexed at his logic. After his interview segment they were like well, there you have it from Armando Salguero... *long pause* Obviously some uh, interesting opinions there. It was pretty obvious from listening to him answer questions he didn't really have a clue, or solid source on whatever opinion they were asking him about. It was quite comical and painful.
As for the article.. To even try to compare what we've done here to NE is a bit insane IMO. NE has the luxury of letting these guys go because they've had stability in player selection, talent evaluation, and player development for so long. They have the ability to let their vets walk, and let the developing players come in and step up, and move them for extra picks and such. That's the benefit to doing it the right way for as long as they have. We haven't had that luxury, but you have to start somewhere. You look at the guys we kept, and look at them outside the lines. What are they? They're guys who have been key contributors on the field, but even more so off it and buying into the program. It's guys like that, that help entrench that stability for you, that help getting everyone in that locker room buying in and on the same page. The culture change is happening, and you need guys who are doing it the right way to buy in to that system. That's happening and is a pretty big reason IMO that those guys were all retained. Yes, even Branch. Comparing that situation to OV is a bit ridiculous IMO. Are both overpaid? Probably, yup. Branch wants to be here though, Branch has bought in to what we're doing here. OV was chasing a big payday, and IMO had a pretty underwhelming season sack wise. The Giants paid him like an elite pass rusher, and he picked up 63 tackles, and 8.5 sacks. Branch picked up 49 tackles and 5.5 sacks for a fraction of the price. OV is likely not going to be worth that cash. Branch may not be either, but it's a salary and deal that's not going to break you as opposed to OV's
Armando though just likes to pick and choose the "facts" he wants to represent depending on what story he's trying to push. Which is exactly why his opinion shouldn't really be taken seriously at all, if ever. Just because he's "plugged in" to the team and a sports writer, doesn't mean he has a clue. He's been way off base far more than he's been accurate. Now if you're comparing him to Omar Kelly, and that's why you're saying he's making great points as usual, then sure, I'll give you that... but is that really a good thing?Last edited: Mar 15, 2017resnor, Two Tacos, danmarino and 1 other person like this. -
I predicted before the season that we should get about 9 to 11 wins based on the talent we had going in and the strength of schedule which was favorable.
Gase does deserve alot of credit for doing a great job with an injured depleted roster, but 10 and 6 was about what I expected from them.
Now going into next season our schedule will get tougher, and our talent level has not improved, it has actually gone down as of now. If everybody doesn't stop patting each other on the back for being the last seed in the playoffs I fear we will regress and not even make it next year.
A healthy dose of skepticism and critical thinking is in order in my opinion. Gase and the FO have not actually proven themselves to be geniuses as of yet and alot of you need to put down your pom poms and put on your thinking caps.

Before the season started out their SoS was one the toughest in the league. IIRC, around 10th. So I don't believe you had them winning 9-11 games.
And before the season started did you also figure in the amount of injuries the Dolphins had? No, you didn't. Unless you claim psychic abilities.
Talent level has not gone down. lol...Jeez, Mando, get a new shtick.
Skepticism you have too much of and critical thinking you have not enough.
A first season HC, with a depleted team playing in a new scheme made a playoff run and you don't call that good?

I repeat I didn't factor in so many injuries and gase deserves credit for that, but from a pure talent perspective this team right now is not better than last year's day one roster.
The offensive line is in worse shape and so is the defensive line and the defensive backfield. The linebacker unit is marginaly better with the addition of timmons but even that isn't saying much because our linebackers last year were some of the worst in the league. All the other units (WR, QB, TE, and ST) are about the same as last season. Overall we have a less talented roster right now.
BTW I am not mando so please stop referring to him in my posts.

What happened to you claiming that their SoS was easy before the season last year? Oh, that's right, you were caught in a BS lie and didn't respond to that.
Again, I don't believe you had them winning 9-11 games. Gase, albeit looked like the right man for the job, had yet to coach a game in the NFL. And with the way you run around this board crying at everything the Dolphins do I don't believe you liked him either.
How is the DL worse off?
How is the OL worse off?
TE is about the same? lol
Whatever you say, Mando. -
Offensive line: We let go of albert and bushrod and replaced them with Ted Larsen. We are right now worse on the OL talent wise.
Defensive line: Got rid of Mario Williams, Jason Jones and Earl Mitchell. Replaced them with Hayes. Worse off.
Defensive backfield, lost abdul qudous, replaced him with Allen. Worse off.
TE: Got rid of Jordan Cameron and dion sims to replace them with thomas and Fasano. We replaced an injury prone starting tight end and and a primary blocking tight end with another injury prone tight end and primary blocker. It could turn out better or could turn out the same or worse. Its a wash at this point imho.
All the other units are basically unchanged from last year.
I am as much Mando as you are actually Dan Marino.
