This just hit me, in a wave of clarity. This isn't a prediction, this is the future.
Mangini in Cleveland will have a better record than Rex Ryan in NY.
One teams scapegoat is another teams treasure.
The players loved Eric, he had personnel moves forced down his throat. All the misguided leadership, all the over-paid and lazy lay down free agents, all the true issues still remain in NY, rampant through-out the Jets organization. Troublesome elephants like Pace, Woody, and now, the bloated maniacal monster, who commits genocide among innocent cheeseburgers, restaurant by restaurant...Rex Ryan.
Excuses are for losers. For the weak. If only for, if it wasn't for....blah!
Well here is your fate, on a silver platter. Mangini > Mayor McCheese.

all the same problems are still in Florham Park, but worse.
Browns trump the Jetsos, book it. -
I predicted that in the "off the wall" division winner thread.
Mangini, whether the Jets fans wish to admit it, or not, was a winner in NY, and he inherited the worst Jets team since Parcell's took over with the #1 pick overall (second in a row) in the late 90's.
I do think Mangini is a cold fish as a person, but he can coach and coach up mediocre talent.
The Browns have a last place schedule and two decent Qb's, those are two of the ingredients in a fast turnaround.
As for Sexy Rexy, he has not been a headcoach, he is inhereting Mangini's roster with the core players record of 27-25 (or so), he has a Qb with little starting experience and heads into a schedule almost as tough as the Phins and Patsies face. -
But here are a few snippets on those few players that did not dis-like him...
On this article it states that some of the players still like him and stand up for him... from a NY Sports writer...Greg Bishop...

I seriously doubt that rexy will allow any slackers on his team. They may end up being many different things this year good and bad, but IMO, they will be playing hard nosed smashmouth football. Maybe rexy will be overwhelmed like cam, maybe not and the team buys in like with Tony, no matter, the 11 on the field will be coming. Y'all know I hate the jets, but they have some good talent.. better than Tony got here so to write them off before we actually beat them is premature in my mind.

but i feel that Ryan, like all the other B-more DCs and like his old man, will not succeed or excel as a head coach. and it wont surprise me if the Browns end up with a better record. id be surprised if mangini didnt get better results out of them. this is more about jetnation's bloodlust and blame casting, and their fall-guy. -

I'm not so sure they will just due to the fact they have a rookie QB (who I'm not sold on as a player AT ALL) and play a tough scheduleFin Fan In Cali likes this. -

But you're right. -
as shocked as i'd be if both the Browns and Jets made the play-offs, stranger things have happened.

I think they will fare much better than last year. Their defensive unit was hammered with injuries. The had issues all over the place about coach & GM.
I think Mangini will do a decent job with that unit.
I truly believe you can expect a regression from Baltimore and possibly see either Cincinnati or Cleveland finish #2 behind Pittsburgh.
