Breaking news on ESPN. For performance enhancing drugs. I'll try to find a link.
Shocking to me, but I guess now a days no name should really be stunning. Its a shame that we have to be question every great hitter now.

Would like to say I am shocked - but not anymore.....this sucks (all the PED use) for Baseball...it really does.
-
-
Someone better keep Sam away from tall buildings.
I wonder what kind of PED it was.unluckyluciano and SICK like this. -
Im not shocked by this news but The Dodgers are in the NL West with a good young line up. I think they'll survive the 50 games without Manny but we'll see what happens.
-
-
this is insane. it hurts my fantasy team a ton, but i have no tolerence for PEDs...just crazy...
-
-
This is interesting for sure. I wonder what exactly he tested positive for. I do have to question if this is karma hitting the Dodgers now.
-
Bwahahahaha
-
The Dodgers were on the brink of running away with the division, literally sealing it up by August, this is not helpful for them.
And I liked Manny as a character, it's a pity that this has happened, I was naive enough to think he was the last "clean" and good player. -
Because they are out-paying other teams for their best players? Nothing the Yankees, Cubs and Red Sox haven't been doing for quite some time.....well, not as much the BoSox the last season or 2 I guessRegan21286 likes this. -

What is there to like about him as a character? Sure, its a pleasure to watch him hit on a daily basis, but the guy is a dog.
I'm sure Tito, Theo, Larry and the rest of the Red Sox FO are laughing hysterically this afternoon. -

Samphin Κακό σκυλί ψόφο δεν έχει
The right thing for Manny to do is to sit and take his medicine, well, maybe NOT take his medicne.SICK, unluckyluciano and Big E like this. -
I've actually been saying Albert was on them for years. Look at his picture in his rookie season compared to now.
Rookie Year
Now
These pics don't even do it justice. But you can see how much bigger he's gotten.Samphin, unluckyluciano, sking29 and 1 other person like this. -

Geez, is there anyone clean anymore????!!:pity:
-
This is just "Manny being Manny"...surprised no one has said that until now.
Seriously though its sad because literally this whole generation of hitters are more than likely all shams and the one's who aren't will always be suspected (I had the same thoughts as you Hardkore about Pujols and maybe even Ken Griffey Jr. which I doubt but who knows anymore). Of course there will be the arguments by some, especially on ESPN, that this isn't a big deal because who knows what pitchers were taking, it still takes talent to hit the ball, who knows what the old players were on, and some things that are banned now weren't 10 years ago, etc. The fact is, however, that any player in my eyes who ever took steroids knew what they were doing was wrong and were cheating their fellow players and the fans who followed them and their records. For me it doesn't matter who all was doing it, just the fact that they did it is enough. Asterisks abound in other words for me and it seems Hall of Fame voters agree. It's sad but true and I would say the same things if steroids "become public and provable" in the NFL including Dolphins players.

griffey and chipper jones I think are clean..........................
Fred McGriff I think was clean.
Theres still some out there I think that played clean. -
“Recently I saw a physician for a personal health issue. He gave me a medication, not a steroid, which he thought was OK to give me,” Ramirez said in a statement issued by the players’ union. “Unfortunately, the medication was banned under our drug policy. Under the policy that mistake is now my responsibility. I have been advised not to say anything more for now. I do want to say one other thing; I’ve taken and passed about 15 drug tests over the past five seasons.”

Karma in the sense that Manny threw his last year with Boston and when he went to LA was a hitting god and no one on the left coast cared what he pulled, not that I blame then. I figured Manny would have took a month or so off this year because that's what he does anyway the past 3 years.
Also Gammons and a few others are saying its not steroids.
And two with these pictures, there's always going to be a difference in what 20 year old looks like and what 37 year old does. As someone who has seen Manny without his baggy uniform on you'd never think he took steroids. -
-
Edit: Read an SI article and two of the major home run hitters from the steroid era besides Ken Griffey Jr. are Frank Thomas and Jim Thome both of which are fairly large guys and have had miraculous comeback seasons before. Another strange occurrence. -
The only guy we had on juice was John Rocker. -

Good thing he's only taking the Util spot on my fantasy rosters. Hopefully we can keep it going. Gotta get our pitchers back healthy though since the runs may not be as much as before. -
And why am I thanking a D-Backs fan...:pity: -
Here's what the article said:

showing someone in their rookie year as compared to today is not a good measure of steriods. getting the right weight training, training harder, and actually doing everything right is how these players get bigger.
i doubt you could pull up anyone that has hit 30 HRs in a season in their rookie season, and then much later in his career and their wouldnt be a difference.
btw, im not sure what you see in the pictures, but hes was legit big in his rookie season, and then he got bigger and fatter more importantly.
