Yeah, he's talking to Dungy before the results of the report come out ??? Hmmmm....I'd say that means he's worried that public opinion will not be on his side of this ordeal....shrewd business like approach...

I am so sick of adding gate to everything as well and I want to know who is the jokers that are doing this ? I think its time to band together as dolphins fans and tell the responsible parties to give it a rest.
political correctness needs to stop.
I hope the media wont drag us through the mud but the dolphins are the most disliked franchise of our division. which is why a division realignment would not bother me .
I do have a question , what happens if there is damaging material about the coaching staff ? -
I wonder if Dungy got to interface with Hickey at all. Would be curious to see what Dungy and Gruden thought of the new GM.
How was the interview, by the way? -
-
Well I think this puts the nail in the coffin of the "is Martin gay?" theory. i don't think he'd be going to Dungy if that was the case

So if the team moves to a new division they won't be the most disliked? Let's say we traded places with Indy and joined the South along with Tennessee, Houston and Jacksonville. Would that solve the problem? :) -

I couldn't care less what Martin has to say. Nor Incognito for that matter.
I hope neither one of them ever play a snap again in the NFL. They don't deserve to. -

I jes watched the interview, it's hard to say who's at fault.. I can't pick a side, although my loyalty lies with the dolphins it's hard to ignore the role they played in the situation..
I thought Martin had a decent upside if they would jes find a spot for him and stop moving him around...
I liked the nasty attitude Richie brought to the team, although his skills seemed to take a step back...
I don't hate either guy and hope Martin gets a shot somewhere, I'm not sure Richie ever plays again...
unfortunate situation by a couple of bone heads and incompetent leadership in this locker room... -
Nor is there any really excuse for those whom are demonizing Martin, which is at best ignorant. -
The stuff with Martin however, is not his fault and I'm not sure why you stop at Martin had mental issues and Ritchie should have known better, when that is not an accurate representation of everything that happened.
Cogs is not a psychiatrist. If Cogs being Cogs and ribbing teammates got him to be a leader AND (part of what you are neglecting to include) got him close enough to Martin that Martin confided in him about his problems, then why would Cogs see a need to change his ways with Martin? Martin confided in Cogs even though Cogs was supposedly making his life hell and paling around with him and pretending he was ok with everything. Why on earth would Cogs (a non-psychiatrist) think anything other than Martin was ok with him?
Cogs' behavior with his teammates is not a new thing on this team or the NFL. If your argument is that it shouldn't be acceptable in the NFL because its not acceptable anywhere else, then fine that's a different argument. But to think that Cogs should have known that even though Martin lead him to believe they were becoming closer and closer as friends there was problem when in reality Cogs is just a big dumb football player, then that is simply unrealistic. -
Nor is him trying to fit in and get along something that in any way meaningfully belies the idea he had a problem with it. -
I honestly don't understand how you're missing that. Martin not only gave Cogs no reason to think Cogs' behavior was adversely affecting him but he did everything he could to make it seem like he enjoyed it. We are not talking about a guy (Cogs) who could possibly understand this stuff.
It was unfortunate situation all the way around. You have a guy that couldn't handle the ribbing and a guy that couldn't see through the obvious deceit (I don't mean deceit in a bad way, I understand Martin pretended for his own mental survival). Again if this causes the whole culture to change then so be it. But for this to fall on Cogs shoulders is not fair. Then again, if Ireland had listened to Philbin Cogs would have been off the team after the golf thing and this never would have happened.Da 'Fins likes this.
