did he have to tackle or defend a pass or get in position to make a play during the 40?
great that he is fast....but in the NFL, that would only equate to him be the fastest player to take the bad angle...LOL
Like a golfer who can bomb it 350yd....OB most of the time. -

nothing more and nothing lessBigDogsHunt likes this. -
If this guy and his 230 lbs is running that fast I'm sorry but that's astounding!
This guy is NOT afraid of contact

I like fast guys too....but 4.24 (1st unofficial), and 4.34 (2nd unofficial) is only a small, small, part of this kids equation to NFL (and thats a big difference between 2 unofficial times)
-
6-3 230 running a 4.24
that is totally unbelievable
i know they say he plays stiff but still
that is unheard of speed at that sizeSICK, BigDogsHunt, finyank13 and 1 other person like this. -

If he's there you have to consider him. I mean really consider him. He's plenty large enough to put on TE's with amazing closing speed and tackling will NOT be an issue. Thats a LOT of problems solved. -
I have a big time problem with selecting a linebacker to play the safety position.Vengeful Odin and BigDogsHunt like this. -
I will end and give credit where its due...yes, at his size, sub 4.3 unofficial is crazy fast...but apropos of nothing, its irrelevant to his value at S. -

i said that it is amazing that a guy with that size has that kind of speed
elevates his stock tremendouslyBigDogsHunt likes this. -
I'm not a draft guru-type guy, but I've read alot of articles written by guys who are, and I've yet to read a single positive thing regarding this man and his "coverage" skills, which happen to be quite important, especially when considering a prospect at the safety position. -
-
-
All I'm saying is that other teams would consider it, especially if he has a good pro day...I would consider it as well, but only if everybody else I wanted was gone....and even then I dont think I would have the balls to do it... -
T. Mays OFFICIAL adjusted to 4.43
-
-
When all is said and done with "any" players in the combine
game film and game production should be the number 1 consideration not certain individual track events.
Take player that excel at combine events then go back and study
all game film then make a decision.
Mays official time came back as a 4.43
quite a distance from a 4.24BigDogsHunt likes this. -
-
if thats the case, this conversation just went moot...
hahahaha now the guys just came back with they made an error and it is a 4.43....making it a even bigger moot point...BigDogsHunt likes this. -
Which is simply bull****, if the 40's they are running are so inaccuate..why are they running them at all? -
-
What did Rolle run?
-
even Haden's at 4.57 isnt good either....horrible for the "number 1" CB on the board....
consider this though Nappy, when somebody talked about Mays' 40 time, and his instinct level..
"At the Safety position, I'd rather have 4.55 with instincts than 4.30 without instincts. Good eyes more than makeup the difference in speed" -
-
Krripes, once I learned this all of the "he was a 4.3 guy! he was a 4.5 guy here is a link to his Combine numbers!!!" is just silly.
Teams do their own homework and do not share it with the public.
:D..Solyent Green is people!!!
