If true, prolly doesn't change the outcome, but who wouldn't be surprised? \

Will be buried and dismissed by the embarrassed NFL (Oh, Billy and Bob, what are we gonna do about yooooouuu???) while Patriots fans troll America with HAW HAW YOU GOT GASLIGHTED AGAIN.

Not surprising. Here's another piece on the same topic.

They are the slimiest organization around. Hands down. The New England Snakes is more like it nowadays.

Are home and away teams using same ball during the game? Im confusing because some dude said that "colts used same ball so it doesn't count."
Now when i played football in here we brought our balls in every game and our offense runs with exclusively our balls. So when i made pick six, i give it to ref then ref give it to my opposite team.
I check the NFL rules about balls and it didn't said about it if im not missing...are they using same balls? -
How exactly did the deflated balls the Patriots might have used limit the Colts offense to only seven points in the game?
This might be an issue if it proved to be true and the game was close. Yet when the Patriots win by 38 points, it is a non issue IMO.
Unfortunately it appears there are just a lot of jealous fans who are upset the Patriots have Belichick and Brady, while we have to suffer with Philbin and Tannehill.GreysonWinfield likes this. -

It's an issue if it's true because it proves the patriots are so arrogant and afraid of failure that they will do any shady act to win. Not unlike Richard Nixon tapping the watergate hotel. He didn't need to do it, he'd have won the election handedly anyway. So why did he do it? Because he was an arrogant ******* who believed no one would ever catch him on his ****.Pandarilla, Kud_II, MonstBlitz and 3 others like this. -
Scum bag cheaters. I hope they get another 1st rd pick taken away.
I hope the Seahawks injure the entire Pats team during the SB. I hope Richard Sherman and Brady collide knocking each other out for 10 seasons. I hope Bellichik gets his knee rolled up on, on the sidelines by Wilfork. I hope Bob Kraft falls down a flight of stairs and pulls his son down with him. And I hope all the Pats fans at the game and at home watching get severe diarrhea lasting for an entire week.RickyNeverInhaled, MonstBlitz, Mexphin and 1 other person like this. -

Got to admire a coach that would do anything to win. Meanwhile we keep Coyle.

Each team is responsible for there own balls and has 12 marked with the letter "K" and sealed in a box. There is a total of 36 available to the ref's to check 2 hours before the game
The ball taken out by the ref was placed in play after receiving it from the ball boy. The Patriots center complained it was soft so the referee had the Patriots rehuddle and the ball was replaced.
Big deal -
Yeah they're reaching big time... if that were the case wouldn't the Patriots center had been in on it too?
-
who cares if it would have effected the game or not, they still cheated. That game was never going to be close regardless. It was printing money to bet on the Patriots yesterday, but the fact is, if they cheated, its still a big deal, because the malice intent is there.

If you're cheating it is a big deal. The score has nothing to do with it.

A reliable source told me that the penalty if the infraction is true, the Patriots will have to switch coaching staffs with Miami.

Personally, I think this is a big deal. I think some of you are brushing it off under the thought that both teams were subjected to the use of the slightly deflated balls. However, if the Patriots were deflating footballs, it would benefit their offence. It would make the ball easier to grip, throw, and catch and wet weather. However, in the NFL each team brings their own footballs to the games for use while on offense. Therefore, the Colts would have potentially been using a more inflated (regulation) football that would then be less easier to grip, throw, and catch in the wet weather. That gives New England a distinct advantage.
It is also true that the balls are given to the officials prior to the game and checked. Assuming the officials didn't tamper with the footballs and deflate them, it then leaves the sideline ball attendants who are apparently hired by the home team. They are in charge of the footballs once they leave the officials locker rooms. So, it is very likely that something could have occurred. I read an article that states it would be difficult for a sideline ball attendant to deflate a ball with all the people and camera's etc. However, I'm not sure how much sense that report makes. Just take a football of your own laying around your house, stick the pin in it and see just how easy it is to deflate. All you need is the pin, and an open air valve which can easily be placed and concealed in your hand. (assuming the official balls have air valves similar to those we can buy in stores)
That being said, I don't think Indy played well enough to win, regardless. However, knowing this investigation is pending, and apparently that the officials reviewed a ball during the game, and that's what prompted all of this, I'm sure it had a factor. Regardless though, it doesn't account for Indy getting gashed yet again by the run.
Here's the article with the info about the ball procedures and such.

Why can't this team just play legit football? What is Bellichick and co. so afraid of? When you cheat to win, you're cheating yourself. BB is a smart enough football coach, why the need to cheat to win?
-
**** that place. -
Why can't you all wait till the investigation concludes before you all start making irrational statements, everything is a conspiracy with you guys... Nothing is confirmed yet and you all are just going by hearsay of some Colts' reporter. Hating the Patriots is one thing, we're Dolphins' fans that comes with it.. but being blind and making stupid statements is another. You all should quit watching football if you think that there is constant cheating/disadvantages going on in the sport. This is not the WWE, this is the NFL.
If the Patriots' were deliberately doing this on purpose, their own center would have been in on it and not asked for another ball. Not to mention the referees spot the ball every down and can tell if the ball is soft just by grasping it. -
-
One thing this brings up is the absurdity of each team playing with different footballs. How is that ever a good idea? New rule Mr. Goodell: Both teams have to play with the same set of footballs.
Difficult to implement, I know. Technologically challenging too, not to mention vastly expensive. Still, I think it's worth it for a level playing field and all that
Sheesh. -
I knew being in New England after the win yesterday was going to be horrible. My facebook page is full of everyone posting the final score and all the stats that put Tom Brady on the same level as God. This controversy of the deflated balls is of course, being laughed at by the fans and yet no one is stating that this would have changed the outcome of the game. The point is that if they did do this, it fits in with everything that the Pats do to get an edge. The get inside your head and if they do something that goes too far then a rule gets changed, a fine comes their way or they lose a draft pick. Meanwhile they win a game and get to the Superbowl. Would any team give up a draft pick to get into the Superbowl? Sure.
They are arrogant and don't really care on how they do it. Fans here see it as being smart and intelligent and to a degree they are right. That mentality won't change and the Pats and Belichek will still do it no matter what happens.RhodyPhinsFan likes this. -
This makes me wonder what else they're doing. For every non-Pats fan who says "this doesn't matter," how many different ways do they need to cheat before it starts to matter?

is it confirmed they did it or are we just going to say they did without facts? Brady laughed his *** off when they brought this up to him on the radio, you're just believing a rumor from Kravitz, an Indianapolis based reporter.
One ball was deflated, the Center of the Patriots brought it up to the officials' attention and got a new ball, and everyone is making assumptions because of that and saying they deflate the balls themselves.
I have a feeling if Indianapolis said the Patriots' chain links were three links short, helping the Patriots convert easier downs, everyone here will buy into that rumor too.
I think it's time we stop acting like a bunch of jealous cowards and accept the fact that they're a dominant team and deflated or not deflated, the Colts' linebackers did not stop Blount. -
Also, it was raining, the balls were being swapped around the majority of the game. -
Holy hell man... the NFL has even admitted it is aware of it, and investigating the matter. Can you stop acting like this is something that's been made up? It's apparently happened. Everyone will find out soon enough the NFL's version of what they want us to believe happened. You know, similar to spy gate with all those tapes Godell destroyed. Or was that made up too? Just in case you're wondering... http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2015/01/19/league-confirms-ball-deflation-investigation/
I'm not sure where you're seeing the NE Center asked for the ball to be changed, to my knowledge, that's not at all how it went down. The officials noticed it themselves, and apparently removed several balls from the game for being suspicious.

Maybe you should look into some of the news stories out there on this issue before writing it off as non factual? I agree that we need to wait to hear what an investigation reveals, but that goes for you as well. Why can you be so adamant that it didnt happen, and nobody else is able to talk about the fact that it may have? Clearly something happened if several balls were reportedly deflated.
My concern is not really what the NFL's investigation will reveal, but more along the lines of what it won't reveal.LiferYank and RhodyPhinsFan like this. -
As for the rest of it, when does it matter? When it's a 7 point game? A 3 point game? If Andrew Luck can't keep his offense on the field but Brady can due to some slight advantage is that fair to a pooped defense?
I find it funny that Pats fans smugly quote the rulebook about Billy's legal formations, then say "Oh, it doesn't matter" when the balls by rule are supposed to be inflated to a certain pressure. If it's not a big deal why do it? -
I quit watching WWE when I was 9, I don't think that's happening in the NFL. Stick with the facts and don't jump into conclusions until it is confirmed or else we are no better than finheaven on this website. -
I wish there was sound but this is the only one I can find.

As you can see, I've never stated they did it. Just saying it happened, somehow, and it's being looked into.
I have stuck with facts, which I've posted with several articles and links, but apparently that's not good enough? It merits discussion. Not sure what finheaven has to do with anything here. I know we spawned from the mess that was that site, but I really wish people would stop pulling that card. It's really quite irrelevant. This is a message board. To discuss things. This is a thread about an issue. People are going to talk about it however they see fit, that's their right. For some, that's saying 'yup, it happened. They did it. I hate them." For other's, like me.. it's "something happened. Its quite possible there was some malicious actions by someone, or by the Patriots organization. Something happened, it's being investigated." Those are the facts. It's been reported, and admittedly being investigated by the league. Where you're coming from with the center for NE noticed it and gave it to the officials... hasn't been reported anywhere. Just a few posts earlier you were saying nothing happened at all, yet its reported everywhere.
Facts... yes. Lets stick with those please. All we may have right now are news reports, so yes, we don't know alot. However we know something happened to the footballs, at least one, or possibly more. If people want to speculate, so be it. That can't be controlled. I did earlier disagree with an article (that i posted) that said it would be hard to deflate a ball during the game. However, as I stated, it wouldn't be, just see how easy it is for yourself with a ball. Then... look up the fact that USC was fined for deflating footballs, on the field, on the sidelines in 2012. It's happened before.RhodyPhinsFan likes this. -
the NFL is reporting it was only one ball via their spokesperson Michael Signora.
