Billick as possible HC?
Brian Billick is out of Baltimore. He got fired today by the Ravens. what do you think about giving him a shot here? hes a proven SB winner. sure he has had a really crappy offense but he has had a good d and thats one of our many problems right now. would you want him?

Dear lord I hope he comes nowhere near this team. I honestly believe that since Cameron wasn't fired along with Mueller, that he will be back next year.
-
Good...at least we can start looking early if he does get fired.
-
I appreciate that.

Several low-rung Dolphins staffers have been told to show up early for work Monday to clean out other people's offices throughout the Dolphins' facility. That comes as no surprise because, before this week is over and perhaps as early as Monday. [mod]please do not quote more than a sentence or two from an article[/mod]

Wow, that is interesting. He's worried about the GDamned website? I actually really like this guy, and if fired, will be disapointed not to see his offense come to light. But you can't be worried about crap like websites and things like that. I guess we will see what happens soon. Sparano will be our guy if/when cam is let go.

Still wonder why they wouldn't can Cam and Mueller together...

Is he a possibility if cam is fired? -
I wouldn't want Billick to lead my nephew's cub scout troop, let alone lead this team.
Billick seems to be totallt clueless when it comes to play calling. I really think Ray Lewis and the defense is the only reason Billick has a SB ring on his finger. -
Isn't Billick a control freak?
No thanks. Not going to work in Miami. -

Really he had that odd year where the Ravens won the Superbowl that kept him around longer than he should have been. He really seems lost as a HC for the most part. The Ravens have good personel and draft well he really hasn't had any excuses.

Dismissal from Ravens
On December 31, 2007, Jay Glazer reported that Billick was to be fired from his position as head coach of the Baltimore Ravens.[4] [5] This came after a season in which the team went 5-11, including 1-5 in the division, and lost to the otherwise winless Miami Dolphins.
I think that did him in more that anything, because he lost to a winless team. Don't get me wrong, I was more than happy that the Phins won! I would want him maybe as an OC, but not a head coach. -
Billick's luster has worn off a little bit, he was originally hired because he was an "offensive genius" (sound familiar?), and then had been kind of coasting off the Ravens SB win from a few years back. I thought his teams always played hard, but he could never find Baltimore a solution at QB (Again, sound familiar?) I think that team caught some bad breaks this year, and you could make a valid argument that Billick probably didn't deserve to be fired. That said, I suspect the Ravens thought that the team had become divided, so he was shown the door.
I don't see him as a fit for the Dolphins in the event that Cam is not retained (for the reasons mentioned above), but I could see him ending up someplace like Atlanta ...
Here's a thought, and conversation fodder, does Billick go if the Ravens pull off the win against the Patsies? They'd be the only team the Phins beat and that NE lost to ... just a thought. -
Billick was quoted as saying that he is a "genius" at finding quality quarterbacks. He had 13 starting QB's as Ravens coach. This was also the main reason why he was hired.Don't you think he would be the perfect fit for this franchise? That is slightly better than us since Marino retired.:couch:

to be fair to Billick, the franchise (while great at finding defensive players) has really struggled to find any offensive talent. Travos Taylor was a bust, Mark Clayton has not developed into what they thought he would be, Kyle Boller only started showing signs after McNair got there (though to be fair to him, he was thrown into the fire, and was never given a good vet to learn from), even McNair was pretty poor. The only offensive players they've been able to get anything out of have been McGahee,Lewis,Heap, and Mason.
As I said, they really dropped the ball with Boller. When he came into the league he had to learn on the fly (other QBs being Anthony Wright and Chris Redman). Did not help that Lewis and Heap kept getting hurt, and he did not have a number 1 wr until Mason came around.
Anyways back on topic. Living in PA I saw a lot of the Ratbirds, and it was really obvious this year that Billick wanted to prove he was a good offensive coach. He made a lot of strange calls that really started to piss off the defense. I kind of figured he was gonna get fired after the Ravens stopped the Pats on 4th down, but he let the DC call a TO. Then after the debacle against us... he sealed his fate -
god please on billick

Frank Ganz jr was the Special Teams coach for the Ravens, he is one of the best in the NFL, I would love to have him in Miami....we could really use that guy.... -
Kyle Boller never developed for Billick, although he showed signs of learning from Steve McNair.
