Jeez... the more we hear about it the more it seems that he really doesnt have much interest in football anymore. I mean really, it seems thats the bottom line out of all of this.

First he is asked if he still wants to play and he responds by saying he loves it. Then the last part is interesting. He wants to be remembered as an actor, not a football player. I mean What now?

I figured out that I missed the first and last question of the interview, sorry about that.

The first one was regarding his relationship with Parcells. Jason stated that he had never really met him other than 30 seconds. All he really knows about him is his legacy.

That's the thing with this whole situation. People are going to read and hear what they want, and no matter how much one of us trys to show them the light it won't change.

i've said it before and still belive this:

Jason's going to get opportunities in Hollywood that are available *now* in this momentum-oriented town. it would be a mistake for him to pass them up, in my opinion.

timing is important and it would be short-term thinking to take this year's $8 million instead of Hollywood's half-million or $1-2 million for whatever he does (especially if he wins.)

Sure *this* year he'd make less, but in the long run, if he can act at all, the opportunities to do shows and films will turn out well and lead to MORE opportunities... which would lead to years of work, not one or two seasons.

If he is serious about acting being his new career and his future, he has to take the best window of opportunity available to him.

If he had left Dancing with the Stars early on, then he'd have less 'heat' and bizz around him, thus fewer offers, and it would have made sense to return to football, happy that he'd prgressed his contacts and recognition factor a bit.

But he's made the final, and most of America knows him now. This is the moment to get that ball rolling.

If jason returns to football and Miami, he loses years of networking with people like Denzel and Pacino and everyone else out here. he also loses the 'flavor of the month' currency that could get him guest spots on major ABC shows like Desp. housewives, or other network shows like Ugly Betty, etc.

I expect jason to retire before the season begins and to pursue his acting career.

I'm not happy about it, but that's what i think his agent and Jason are smart wnough to know is the best long-term move.

Ok, to be fair, the question was in ten years how do you want to be remembered. Obviously, he won't be playing ball for that long, so he wants his second career to be fruitful as well. You can't fault anyone for that.

That said, Jason...it's time to put the pads back on and get to work with your fellow teammates...

In ten years he hopes to be active in another career. At that time, he wants people to recognize what he's doing at that time. When he's 43 years old and everyone still sees a Miami Dolphins DE, then he would have failed in his film business bid. This guy wants a fruitful career after football, and that's all he said.

I think once the dancing stops threatening the manhood of so many fans, they will finally get it.

IMO I couldn't care less if it was dancing, golf, or MMA fighting. If he's a football player he should be focused on football. If he wants to make acting his chosen career path then by all means retire from football, continue rubbing elbows with the stars, and move to Hollywood. If he can not fully dedicate himself to this team, in body and mind, then why bother at all. Move on already. I do greatly appreciate all that he has done for this team throughout his football career, but if his heart is leading him elsewhere then he should follow it. Again, just my opinion.

The thing is, he has put himself in a tough spot with the team and fans. If he struggles at all, or gets hurt, its all going to come back to this silly dancing thing and the stuff he has said.

And it won't matter if it had anything to do with it or not.

OMG! If anything like that happens this season, your absolutely right, people would freak, and a blame game would ensue. You guys would have to create a "JT ONLY THREAD" and strickly enforce it. :lol:

Thought I would share this tidbit guys and gals:

Jason Taylor says that when all's said and done he'd rather be remembered for acting than playing football.

Taylor says he's met Dolphins VP of football operations Bill Parcells "for 30 seconds," but doesn't know him. "It’s strange that in our business, that in your mid-30s, you start thinking about retiring," Taylor added. It's beginning to sound like Taylor is serious about not playing for the Dolphins this year.

All that Hollywood spotlight is filling his head up with nonsense.

When he actually signs a deal to be in a real movie and actually do more than Dan did in Ace Ventura...and succeeds in the most important thing ....Acting...

THEN and only then can he say: "OK, I can do this."

Because dancing around, in essentially a reality show, does not mean he is going to have an acting career longer than 15 minutes.

Hollywood has chewed up and spit out Actors far greater than him.
