Round 1: Clint Stintim-Outside Linebacker-Virginia
* This guy has ties to the Dolphins due to the relationship between Al Groh and Bill Parcells. Other than that Stintim is a tremendous football player that would be a Day 1 starter opposite of Joey porter. Stintim is a leader with amazing ability and when I sya this kid is intense I mean he needs a room with no windows.
Round 2A: BJ Raji-Defensive Tackle-Boston College
* This guy is strong and hard to move , things which are very important when talking about a Nose Tackle. He would get a chance to learn from Jason Ferguson who is playing at a high level. Raji would be an immediate impact player in a rotation with Fergusona nd Randy Starks
ROUND 2B: Antoine Caldwell-Center-Alabama
* Alex Mack will be the highest rated center come draft day but he is not the best b/c Antoine Caldwell is. Caldwell woud take over for Samson Satele and Satele would probably be used for depth purpases. Samson could also move over to guard with the status of Justin Smiley being in limbo.
ROUND 3: Dominique Johnson-Cornerback-Jackson State
* This kid is a ball-player. If he played at a big time school he would be dratted much higher.
Round 4: Andrew Gardner-Offensive Tackle-Georgia Tech
Round 5: Ramses Barden-Wide Receiver-Cal. Poly
Round 7A: TBD
Round 7B:TBD
Round 7C: TBD

I like Caldwell a lot- I hadn't seen enough of him before the UF game- but I still think that Mack is the better Center, at least for our system. Caldwell is a technician, Mack is a beast. I would be happy to get either one, though.
If Anderson keeps playing well it will decrease the chances of us taking an OLB- I think. -
Best Mock draft I've seen so far.
-
Could you give Size, Yr of these guys, or links. thanks.

Andrew Gardner is a guy I've been talking up for a while. Would make an excellent RT. Played three years in that pro system at Georgia Tech and then had to convert to that funky triple wing attack this season which essentially involved him diving at ends feet play after play. He got hurt and missed the back end of the season, but the kid can play.
-
Too many times did I see Techs OL diving at defensive players feet and it :tantrum: everytime I see it. -
You might as well order a Stintim jersey. He is going to be the pick
-
How about ordering a Sintim jersey?
I don't see how, 5 months before the draft, before the juniors and Redshirt sophomores declare, before the All Star games and the Combine and the individual workouts that he's going to be the pick.Big E likes this. -
I dont see us taking another DT(not that early at least). The LB and CB positions will be the main focus, IMO.
-
No offense, mate, but this rationale cracks me up. Arguing that many/most NFL FOs will put a wrong grade on what you perceive to be the best center so that he falls to, of course, your favorite team, doesn't make for a very convincing argument or mock draft.Boomer likes this. -
Vendigo. that's not the case at all. no offense taken. I hope to god we don't spend another draft pick on a Center, let alone a 2nd Rounder. I do my rankings, mocks , etc. based off what I think will happen, not what I want to happen. I want Malcolm Jenkins in Round 1 more than any player in the draft.
I have wtached Caldwell and Mack. I think Caldwell will be the better pro. I think without questions Caldwell is the best linemen on the Alabama team and that Andre Smith will probably be a Top 5 pick just based off of his position. -
Well what RS Sophomore declaration will change our draft strategy? We don't need and won't be in position to select Crabtree, Brandford, or Maclin.
I think Sintim will work out well at the combine and his ability during the Senior Bowl will make him even more so the pick. It's like when the Dolphins selected Ginn. It all just adds up. -
Anderson is going to be lucky to stay on the roster. -

Most of us had long considered Ginn a serious possibility, mostly because we didn't think Brady Quinn would make it to #9.BigDogsHunt likes this. -
I always thought Ginn was a severe possibility. I respect what CK and Boomer do and am not taking it away from you guys at all. The casual fan thought Brady Quinn was the slam dunk. I know a lot could happen from now until April. I am just making the point that if everything is where it is now Sintim would be the best fit for this team. I would bet my left aarm we go linebacker or nose tackle in Round 1. I don't know anyone who would literally go out and buy his jersey now.
-
For everyone who wanted Chris Long last year, Sintim will translate to the outside far better and Al Groh will tell you that himself.

Here are my suggestions for the 7th round.
Round 7A: WR Brandon Tate, North Carolina 6-1 195 4.52
Round 7B: OT/OG Robert Brewster, Ball State 6-4 312 5.10
Round 7C: FB Tony Fiammetta, Syracuse 6-0 240 4.64
I don't think we're going to draft Gardner unless he falls to the 5th round which he might. I think it's very likely that we draft a safety in the 4th round. One of the following:
SS Chip Vaughn, Wake Forest 6-2 214 4.52
SS/FS Otis Wiley, Michigan State 6-2 210 4.56
FS/SS David Bruton, Notre Dame 6-2 207 4.55
SS Kevin Ellison, USC 6-1 225 4.64
SS/FS Michael Hamlin, Clemson 6-3 206 4.56 -

I'm liking Caldwell alot. I was watching the Auburn and Florida game and both games did really well. More so in the Rushing game. He could be an option for the Phins. I like Eric Wood I think he will be a great player but Caldwell looks like a franchise center. Man this class is deep with Tackles and Centers.
-
I see. Thanks for the clarification. I still have to admit, however, that I fail to see how, at this point in time, one can argue with confidence and merit that NFL FOs will be putting a wrong grade on Caldwell. I'm always wary of mock drafts doing the "I've seen something that NFL FOs won't see" routine. It's simply not particularly credible in my opinion.
By the way, I do like Caldwell a lot. He's the best center I've seen on tape so far.
Now here's a player I consider severely overrated by the mock guys. Great in coverage, has good hands, excels in zone coverage, jumping routes like a natural ... and a sorry tackler in the open field. Personally, I wouldn't touch a cornerback in the 1st round who is such a lousy open field tackler, no matter how great a cover corner he is. -
