"Writing a column for Sunday's newspaper about Chad Henne and, while there will be some stuff from his press conference Wednesday, I'll also use some statistics that should surprise you."

I'm really proud how Henne has handled himself since being thrown into action. But overall do you think the front office sees him as their QB of the future? I definitley think he's good enough but from what I've read the front office isn't 100% committed.

See Jeff Irelands statement on this link at the bottom regarding Henne http://miamiherald.typepad.com/dolphins_in_depth/2009/11/gm-jeff-ireland-unfiltered-well-almost.html.
It's pretty open ended so you can interpret it how you want. I think it's safe to say that short of a meltdown Henne is the guy. But this front office and coach will push and ring everything out of a player they can and when the time comes that the player doesn;t produce and the cap will allow they will cut them.dolfan7171 likes this. -

Basically, they weren't and aren't going to let Chad Henne turn into a boondoggle. Before he even had a start they drafted Pat White in the 2nd round* and traded for a young guy who started and showed some upside in Tyler Thigpen.
That's probably one of the biggest benefits of Bill Parcells. Too many inexperienced head coaches have gone down with the ship on a failed rookie quarterback, and he's using his his clout and reputation to allow him to do something that is controversial, and probably the correct decision to make.
* Note: THIS IS NOT AN INVITATION TO DISCUSSION WHETHER OR NOT YOU THINK PAT WHITE IS GOING TO MAKE A GOOD TRADITIONAL NFL QB. IT IS THE FURTHEST THING IN THE WORLD FROM THIS. THANK YOU.dolfan7171 likes this. -
