We should really try to wear white at home every game we can and REAALLLLY screw em.
-
Difficult balance for Ross. He wants/needs competitive edges, but he also needs butts in the seats. -
-
No it doesnt. Not everyone has the durability of a 15 year old kid and can sit through those games.

There have been literally dozens of threads about Ross's desire to eliminate the 1:00 games in September. However, this stat says it all:
"Since 1990, the Dolphins have won 72 percent of their games when the kickoff temperature hit at least 82 degrees. Anything cooler, the win percentage drops to 57 percent."
So, to all those who say it doesn't matter, you're just wrong.Frumundah Finnatic, dolfan22 and adamprez2003 like this. -
You think Green Bay's ownership lobbies the NFL for less December games cause they're afraid their fans might get cold?????Coral Reefer, Ozzy and resnor like this. -
I rather go watch our football team in the heat, in the rain, in what ever weather it may be than have a roof. We live in Florida, we deal with this weather 365 days a year, so you're saying that people cant deal with it for 3 hours?
I agree with this statement 100%

just sad that people cant deal with "sitting" in the heat for three hours to root for a team that "plays" in the heat for three hours

Well, for me the concern is not the heat it is the tone it sets for the Organization, Ross has said a Dolphins Team in the Super Bowl is his goal, does moving the games out of the heat help to reach that goal?
We started out 2-0 on the road , we lost two evening games and fell to 2-2, won another road game, now to my mind Miami has their first true "Home Game" of 2010 this Sunday.
So to me, let's see how it plays out on the Field and then decide. -
The local fanbase lives here in the South Florida heat every single day. Although it may get really hot inside the stadium, we should be used to it and imo embrace it!
I freaking loved 1 pm games! Loved them! Not only for me, but I loved watching the opponents come off the field and head right towards the cooling fans...huffing and puffing.
If you can run the ball well, you can wear them out by the 3rd quarter... -
Here's a little food for thought. I the past, we were not as big or physical as visiting teams. Now, is a different story.
Think Soliai, Long, Carey, Langford, etc play better in the heat? I don't. -

I just have no patience for fans who would like to see us lose a competitive advantage so they can be "comfy" during the games. It's football, not tennis. Grow a set. Or try watching a game in Northern New York during December. You would be thankful for the sun no matter how hot it is.

BUT the advantage can go both ways. When you play in, practice in, and live in the same element, it is almost impossible to get used to the opposite.
When you're out on the field, you cannot bring your jacket with you or run around out there in shorts and a wife beater....Frumundah Finnatic likes this. -

I lived in Alaska for 3 years, and I'll take temps in the 80's (which is the average temp for the hottest month) with 100 percent humidity over freezing cold, 40 degrees, 50, 60 or 70.... -
the monday night game against the colts last year was brutally hot, at least in the stadium. i was pouring sweat at 9pm
its more about the crazy sun at its peak of the day that people dont like more than temperature alone which i think stitches was sayingStitches likes this. -
Of course and he is right. It's sweaty hot most times of the day n night and especially when playing sports. I'm sure he is also right that it's still an advantage for all three times...1 or 4 or 8/9
But still, it is nothing like the daytime and it is more of an advantage playing at 1pm than 8 pm and a little more than 4pm IMO. I've been thru it all. Over and over for over 30 yrsmaynard likes this. -

The heat is a lot different than in Canada but I love going to 1:00 games and never had an issue with the heat. Sure it is hot but you can temper that if needed or just embrace it.
I totally agree that it was a HUGE home field advantage that we should not let go of.Ozzy likes this. -
i dont live in miami so i cant really comment on the heat, although the one game i went to this year vs the jets, although at night, i was sweating by the first quarter bc it was so humid and i was going insane.
living in ny, when the fins come here i will go, and it is cold. very cold.
bottom line, weather does not mean anything to me in football. for me, every ****in play i am so tense during the games, that i dont even feel the weather i am so focused on the game.
weather does not effect me during football games. its one thing to sit at a baseball game in the heat and humidity or the cold, and feel crappy, but with football being such a tense sports, its all mind over matter. -
You're not ****ing 90, stop *****ing.
