You know, when we shipped Thomas and Taylor to the Boys and DC I was thinking, we'll I'll cheer for them once we're out of the playoffs. How ironic that both may be cheering us on instead!

I hope JT signs a one day contract at the end of his career and retires a Phin...same with Zach. Hope they both make the Hall of Fame as well.

JT will always be a Dolphin. That whole offseason saga was blown way out of proportion. He was the face of the Dolphins for an entire generation of young fans who grew up watching him. He has always been (and always will be) a class act.
I'd love to see him back in Miami playing on a contending Dolphins team in a year or two.dolphindebby, dolfan32323, mullingan and 2 others like this. -

Time to take your 'I'm not bitter' pill.unluckyluciano, H.Moody, dolfan32323 and 2 others like this. -
He got a very big head while he was in Hollywood with DWTS and he became very selfish. Any of his acts of charity I take with a grain of salt.....many of them are done to promote his image, and many people here just eat it up. -

If JT comes back to miami someday and plays even close to what he played like his last few years here ill be very happy. Ive always loved JT.

Please, I see through a lot of these athletes, many of which couldn't give a rats azz about poor kids, but they are looking out for the chance to market themselves and charities are the best way to do that. Its all goody-goody and feely-good, and makes a lot of people cry when they see the big tough rich football player (with cameramen in tote) at some charity event. Ask anyone that has been involved at any of the charity events many of these athletes and celebrities names are attached to, and the only time these guys are involved is for the few minutes that the cameras are there. All of the events are carefully controlled and only certain people ever get to interact with the celebrity/athlete.
Take the Thanksgiving giveaway the Dolphins do.....the cameras were there taking publicity pics, and the athletes were there for about 10 minutes, just long enough for the camera shots. Then miraculously all the players and coaches are gone. I give the Dolphins props for the giveaways, they went to some very needy people, but lets not lets be real, the players didn't do all that much. It made for nice 30 second clips on all the local evening news shows, and it makes for good pub for the Miami Dolphins.
When we see a player who has a story come out, not by a publicity agent, or by Miami Dolphins publicity dept that they gave there time anonymously I'll believe its for real.
Man I must have taken a really strong bitter pill today.....oh well its my time of the month :wink2:shula_guy likes this. -
He signed a contract to play for the Miami Dolphins. He didn't sign a contract to play for a team in the playoffs because he deserves to play in playoffs. He should have shut his piehole, and done what Parcells, Ireland and Sparano wanted him to do. If they wanted to ship his contract somewhere else that is their right. His contract said he was supposed to be at mandatory team functions, and he didn't comply. He made the situation worse by going public, and by holding his "press conference" to really say nothing at all. Although he didn't say anything much, it was the lasting impression that he was unhappy here that then diminished his trade value. That was selfish and disloyal.
I supported him up until that time. That showed me exactly where his true loyalty was and it wasn't to the team so many of you think he still loves.shula_guy likes this. -
Bill Parcells decided Zach Thomas, a true Dolphin through and through, no longer needed to be one. Parcells should be scorned as well.
IT works both ways and is still a business. He said he'll play if traded, he'll play if not. Nothing wrong with that. You have every right to still be bitter, but most of us feel, whatever, that's the NFL life.
Remember, there are other Dolphins who have done the same.
Dan Marino gave the dolphins a list of teams he would like to be traded to. -
Love 'em both. Always will.
However, neither belong in the ring of fame. They didn't win anything worthy of note during their tenure. That may not be their fault, but that's my opinion. -

I am only bitter about the way he did it. He KNEW he wasn't going to play for the Dolphins this year, but he didn't work with Parcells, but fought with him publically. And I feel that cost the Dolphins a chance for a 1st round pick. Washington probably will end up no better than 8-8 and that pick could have been # 13-17 range. Instead it will be probably # 45-49. -

I caught so much heat for stating this on the D.D. , that Wanny didn't want Marino, I was told repeatedly that Marino left under his own terms even though Marvin Demoff stated Marino was basically thrown out.
This above statement was labeled as being "disruptive" or "baiting".

Still love him? Still hate JT? What Dan did was worse.Colorado Dolfan likes this. -
It's also a fact that almost all veteran players with the clout that Marino had almost always carry trade clauses in their contracts... often with details as to what teams they may be traded to. IMO, what Marino did, and what Taylor did, are two completely different things.
The way I see it, Dan Marino will always be a Miami Dolphin... and, as unpopular as it may be, Jason Taylor will always be a former Miami Dolphin to me. He had a choice, and he chose to 'dance with the stars'. Ridiculous.funkdat likes this. -
JT wanted a trade when Cam came here but the Dolphins and the NFL wouldn't let him be traded,,,a large part was because he was the star they were selling to the people in London to come out and see the game there.
They told him to wait tell next year and he did. When nothing was getting done as far as a trade he told his friend Jason Cole to start making waves, and Jason was down with doing that, and did it well.
Any Dol~fan that's upset with him has every right to be. -
Second of all you really have no clue as to what really lies in JTs heart besides the fact that you think you have seen some clues. Just as thoughs who have seen how he acts and says he really is dedicated to the dolphins take those actions as clues. I would say if you want to interpret actions and such the umpteen years jt was here and played would overwhelm any and all actions of the past few months.jdang307 and opfinistic like this. -
With ZT, I believe it was more of a show of class by our FO to cut him and give him the option to sign with whatever team he wanted. As opposed to shipping him off to some bum team who was willing to offer up a late round pick.mullingan, funkdat and opfinistic like this. -
