Although there's only so much stock you can put in minicamp -- touch football with helmets -- Armstrong counted as one of the surprises by streaking behind coverage on deep routes and running better routes in the medium and short zones. Last year's practice-squad member commanded notice running drills alongside last year's receivers plus 2009 draftees Patrick Turner and Brian Hartline. Still, wideout is one of the most competitive positions on the team.
''I can say that every day Anthony Armstrong has done something like that right now,'' Dolphins coach Tony Sparano said during minicamp last month a few hours after Armstrong beat Eric Green for a big play. ``To the point that I see these quarterbacks are trying to find him in matchups. Now what I can take from that: Until I see it in a game, I am still at 50 percent that way with the evaluation part of it.''
I think that WR, and Linebacker will be some of the most heated competitions on this team.

The team essentially has seven players realistically competing for five, possibly six, positions - Turner, Hartline, Ted Ginn Jr., Greg Camarillo, Davone Bess, Brandon London and Anthony Armstrong. With Ginn, Camarillo and Bess the team’s top three WRs and Turner and Hartline drafted in the first four rounds, London and Armstrong find themselves on the outside looking in heading into training camp.dolfan7171 likes this. -
This will prove to be a dangerous set of receivers to play with. Everyone seems to be getting better and better and it will be hard to decide who has to go.

If they all show well, I would hope we could trade maybe London either for a draft pick or possibly pick up someone at a need area like OG or LB. St Louis have some interesting prospects at OG and a need at wide receiver for instance. Friends of mine are Rams fans and think that Roy Schuening may be on the bubble. I liked him last year in the draft. Just speculation but something to think about.

Armstrong and London clearly have to show something in camp to stick ... London started to contribute towards the end of last season, so i believe he has the higher likelihood of sticking. Having London and Turner as big WRs would be nice ....
i have high hopes for Turner and Marion ... Hartline and Marion are a wildcards ... as both will have to be a standouts on STs in order to make the squad this year. Otherwise, PS ....
Ginn, Bess are locks along with Camarillo (as long as he is healthy) ... even though, and i still believe that Cam is a good candidate for a trade ...
in order: Ginn, Bess, Camarillo, Turner, London, Marion, Hartline ....
speed: Ginn, Marion (not sure if Marion will be healthy, which is Armstrongs only chance)
quick: Bess, Camarillo, Hartline (will only keep 2 of these)
size: Turner, London (London needs a good camp) -

in those categories, i don't think hands changes anything ...
IF Marion is healthy, i want to see him competing against Ginn
Hartline will have a hard time competing against Bess & Cam
Outside of some experience, Turner and London are a wash heading into camp -
Turner I think has an edge on London unless he completely craps the bed because of the fact he was drafted by this regime with a decently high pick. Not saying we don't keep London, just that Turner might have an edge due to draft standing. -
no, not forgetting about route running or hands .... i believe we have 3 categories of WRs ... you can categorize them several different ways - but it still comes down to speed (deep), quick (intermidiate/short), size (possession) ...
i also believe that Armstrong is fodder, and once fully healthy - yes, Marion will pose 'a' threat to Ginn ... i am not saying he will be better, but who knows. -

like Marion big time, a Bess with a lot of YAC
