I agree with the people on that list. That's not a bad group of prospects if I do say so myself.

 

I agree, that's a pretty solid list of prospects right there. I might have added Kendall Langford to the list, but it's hard to say who you can put him over.

1) both Anderson & Moses have experience & talent & are ready to compete
Koa Misi will have to win the position, there will be no anointment @ OLB
I think Anderson will win the start & Misi will give him a run for his money
while gaining valuable playing time, if Misi starts, it will be late in the season

2) John Jerry has size & potential but there are better starting choices @ OG:
both Incognita & Dimitri are proven bulls & are the ones to beat
JohnJerry will be competing w/ the Donald as the team project & back-up OG.
3) Donald Thomas will come under serious scrutiny & will need to learn quickly
the Donald is a beast & the strongest human being on the Miami roster
having said that
he will need a stellar camp & pre-season to hold on to the start

4) for Misi & Jerry I would have placed Dimitri, Grice-Mullen or the Thigpen

 

Incognito's played 3 seasons, so he didn't make the list. Not sure I could make an argument for or against Tsoumpas as I've not seen him play.

 

Cameron Wake should probably be much higher on that list.

 

i agree that wake should be higher , but that could be a nice nucleus of players right there, all so young still with potential

 

It's difficult to make an argument that Jake Long is a "prospect", he is a two time pro bowler and not one of those who were tossed onto the roster after other people declined to participate in the game.

For "prospects" you generally need players who haven't played or played sparingly:

I would take Jake Long off the list and just consider him to be bona fide perennial All Pro candidate. There may be a few better LTs, but not many.

I would definitely put Langford on the list, and I would move Sean Smith down. He had a great preseason. Not so great in reg season. I am looking for him to really improve this season. Henne, Vontae, Bess, Odrick, Wake, Misi, Jerry, Hartline, Langford, then Smith.

Still not a bad group of mostly first and second year players.

I agree. Heck, even the guy who created the article almost stated exactly that. So, if we're still going by the under 25 or under 3 years played, not counting Jake Long, here's my 10 prospects:

2. Cameron Wake
3. Vontae Davis
4. Jared Odrick
5. Koa Misi
6. Davone Bess
7. Brian Hartline
8. John Jerry
9. Kendall Langford
10. Sean Smith

Next two in line:

11. Dan Carpenter

Pro bowls do not mean a thing anymore as so many players drop out case in point...Jake Longs first season
when he made the pro bowl only because Jason Peters dropped out.

Jake is a great player regardless of pro bowls

Lets not put all our eggs in a basket regarding a players worth because of a pro bowl nod

 

to me jake long should still be considered a prospect because the guy is still developing. i might get flamed but he is still a little stiff against speed rushers and his feet can be erratic at times getting out there and keeping them under him imo. no complaints though on jake. he just has a few things to work on stiil.

 

Now we all know that in 08 Peters was selected to the pro bowl ahead of Long, But he didn't have a better year. Hell he didn't even have a good year. In 2008 Peters gave up more than twice the sacks (13) that long has allowed in his first two seasons (6). In fact if we look at the amount of snaps in between allowing a sack peters is the worst Tackle over the last two years, allowing a League low one sack per 84.79 Snaps.

Long deserved to be there. In two years he has only given up a total of 6 sacks. That and he is a mauler in the run game. That's impressive. No doubt Long is a stud and he hasn't reached his full potential yet.

I would'nt take another left tackle in the league strait up for Jake right now, and would'nt think twice about it.

It's funny how many analysts tout Clady, yet looking at these metrics Long is clearly better in the pass protection game through their first 2 seasons.

Long is a beast and a model NFL player. So happy he's a dolphin. He means a great deal to our offensive success.
