For someone already looking at getting an Elite, it's a no brainer.

Probably. Doesn't Nintendo do that with stuff they bundle? Like that game people buy for the extra controller?

 

I think Fable 2 is a good add on. Halo 3 is almost 2 years old now. they may just be doing that to get some hype for the new expansion ODST that's supposed to come out soon.

 

Get the best shooter and a great game in that bundle.

 

I'd do it if there wasn't already a 360 in the house. We have those games, too. But I think that is totally affordable and a fair price.

 

I think Call of Duty 4 was a far better shooter...

 

Can't go wrong with either one. I've been playing COD since it was released on PC. All excellent games. I find Halo harder to master, and therefore give it the slight edge.

 

I also give Halo 3 the nod because it still has support. New maps just came out, and more will come out with ODST. Also the ability to Forge new maps keeps it pretty fresh. I quit playing when CoD4 came out, but after about 4 months went back to Halo 3 and now I'm into it all over again.

 

If a demo like Wii Play can, why not two of the better games in the 360 library?

 

I just wish they'd offer a Blu-Ray Add-On to the system ... I really don't feel like buying a PS3, the exclusive library just hasn't done it for me.

Tho Dr. Z's obsession with the Show is making me rethink that position.

 

Not sure if you've ever played the series, but Metal Gear Solid 4 and the Show has been enough to satisfy my gaming urges on the PS3. Rumors have come and gone for the Blu-Ray add on for the 360 and at this point, it seems an improbability.

 

When my PS3 crapped out the other day I considered just taking the credit from the Best Buy warranty and getting something else. [Xbox games or whatever] Then I thought of never being able to play the Show again and I knew I had to replace it. Uncharted and Heavenly Sword are two very good exclusives a lot of people don't know about.

 

The Show is reason enough to get a PS3 for any baseball fan.

I wish this game would get released on XBOX so more people will buy it. I want more games like this. It is so much fun and so well done. It is like playing art.

 

It was $30 brand new during Gamestop's "Gaming Days" sale or whatever they called it. It might still be going on even.

 

$400 bucks? How is that a bargain? This far into this generation all these systems should be going for $200 - $250 a pop, maxed out. I'm kinda wore out on all three at the moment. Going back and playing old PS1 and PS2 games. I can get great PS2 games for $4.99 now. With a huge library of PS2 games I've never played I figure I can stay about 4 years behind and shop the bargain bin at Gamestop for the rest of my days...

Question for all the Xbox360 owners: If I call Microsoft and tell them that my old launch system (already RRoDed once) is shot again, will they give me a big enough refund to get a new one with HDMI?

 

Now the only question is, will they check to make sure it's broken? Or do I need to make sure it's broken...:shifty:

Essentially you are getting the elite for $300 or so as both those games could be found for around $50 a piece..... Which makes it seem like a great deal except that you are never going to use that 120 gigs of HD space.

The big advantage of of the elite used to be that it had HDMI and the none elite only had 20 gigs of HD space..... Now the premium system has HDMI and comes with a 60 gig HD, which again, you will probably never fill up.

Reason I say its only a "Meh" deal is that the premium system can be had on sale from dell for around $250 every now and then so while this is a great deal for those who were going to buy an elite anyway its not a great deal for anyone else because practically no one actually needs an elite to start with.

Off topic- My 360 got the 3 RROD last night but since I had the Best Buy warranty I will take it in tomorrow and probably be able to replace it with the new 60 gig version. Mwahahahah.

 

Indeed. I loved the original xbox because it just looked like a bad*** gaming console...... Then they follow it up with the "friendly" white 360. :pity:

Indeed. I took it back today, got the 60 gig 360 and since the price had dropped was able to put another warranty on the new console and still get back like $7 on a gift card.

 

That's the same thing I did last Sunday when my 60GB PS3 died. I got a PS3 with a 160GB HD and had plenty to spare due to price drops.
