They had a slotted rookie wage scale under Ireland. Ireland was a jerk. Had to get his way regarding every single issue, despite how the players would end up feeling about their new employer.

Yeah when I think about this season all I can think about is that it sucks that Miami is likely to waste a year realizing Joe Philbin is not a head coach. I think the front office already realizes that.

Salesman have scruples, lawyers in many ways do not. Most have some business or accounting backgrounds or at least the ones I've been in contact with. Most of those have some experience or knowledge of the basic concepts. Plus if they aren't smart enough to have one of those people outside the damn door workig it out as they speak is insane. They can more than afford it.

right now i see tannenbaum/ hickey as ireland 2.0. ireland's downfall was the inability to build a good offensive line after year one and to add impact players at the linebacker position. also it took him a long time to finally get us a QB. Tannenbaum/ Hickey seem to be repeating that negligence
