If they bring back Hartline, I can see Wallace being a fit opposite him. I just hope they get him for a tolerable price. That being said, I'd still hope that if they do indeed re-sign Hartline and sign Wallace, that those moves wouldn't preclude them from looking at receiver in the draft. I'd still be interested in Stedman Bailey, Quinton Patton, and Marquise Goodwin in rounds 2-4.

Wallace is not going to be had at "a tolerable price". I'm not opposed to getting him, but think that Jennings would be just as good an option (with Hartline). I'm not too optimistic that Jennings would be much cheaper either... -
How about teams with soup sandwich WR corps and lots of cap space? Would they be interested?P h i N s A N i T y likes this. -

It really isn't a difficult concept to grasp. Teams that have a history of giving out bad contracts are more likely to give out bad contracts in the future. -

Miami
Pittsburgh (IMO they will make a push to keep him)
KC (They have cap and a need across from Bowe)
Cleveland (They have cap)
Colts (They have a ton of cap and how nice would Luck be with Wayne, Wallace and T.Y. Hilton?)
Tampa and Cincy have cap space but have other needs and in Cincy's case are probably too cheap.GMJohnson likes this. -

If we don't get Austin in the 1st, I'd like Goodwin as a consolation prize. I think Swope would be a better choice than Patton. Bailey is my 2nd favorite WR in the draft after Austin. -

I agree on the WRs, they rarely contribute right away. That's the only reason I'd support going after Wallace. He might be limited route wise but you pretty much know he is going to come in and be a major threat day one. -
It wouldnt suprise me if our top 3 WR come Sept are Hartline/Bess/Rookie. In fact it woyld surprise me if its not that.

It would mean we took a DE, DB or OT that was too good to pass on in round 1. We signed a Jared Cook type instead of a Mike Wallace type in FA. We'd be gambling that defense and run game can hold it down while the passing game got up to speed. Irish would have to wear a disguise just to get into the building. Certainly not out of the question but I'm hoping we go a different route. -

Other than prior chemistry with Tannehill, I'm not sure Swope gives you anything different than Davone Bess does. He's cheaper, but...what else? People forget that Davone Bess was ALSO on pace for a 1,000 yard season last year until his back injury. And Bess showed he was adept at playing outside as well last year. Maybe that's just me, but I think we already have 1 or 2 Ryan Swope-like players on the roster in Bess and Matthews. -

I'm an Irish supporter but if we hit April with Hitman and Bess as our top targets...Even I have my limits.
