That bad pass from Thill to Sims. That Thill's bad pass caused Sims to injure himself and suffer a concussion. Where do people come up with this stuff. Some fans or should I say non-fans should just stop watching football. If you're an athlete in the NFL you should know how to brace for a fall.
If you think that pass was at fault, get a life or just kill yourself because that is just plain ignorant thinking. Bad throw....absolutely. But Sims is in the NFL, he needs to learn how to fall.

It was a terrible pass but the injury was just a freak accident. Sims should be commended for his effort though. A+.
As soon as that ball left Tannehill's hand I knew it was poorly thrown. I'm surprised Sims even got a hand on it. -
-
It is kinda thills fault.... he threw it good enough for sims to make an effort and bad enough that he caused sims to have to dive for it. Did we know sims would get concussed? nope, was it intended? nope, just un lucky. I'm glad it was "just" a concussion, it could have been worse, usually when ppl fall how he did it's a broken collarbone.

It was a factor, not the 'cause'. But yeah, placing the ball perfectly would avoid an athlete needing to expose themselves to injury by laying out.
For example, if guys are diving for the deep ball all year, expect some brusied ribs eventually. Maybe not even enough to make a guy miss time, but just enough to wear him down a little. Make it harder to go up for balls etc.
Little things do matter.
But no, it's not mainly Tanny's fault that Sims is concussed. That'd be exagerrating it.Undisputed and PhinFan1968 like this. -

The pass was still embarrassing. -

There's no doubt that a bad pass like the one T-Hill threw increased the probability of a injury. There's also no doubt in my mind that it only increased the probability by a really small amount: most throws like that (and attempts to catch them) don't result in injury. So yes, Tannehill is partially at fault for the injury, but really not by much IMO.

Whether it was Tannehill's fault or not, Tannehill walked over to the corner of the endzone twice where Sims was hurt to check on him. Not sure if you could see that on TV, but it was nice to see him worried about his WR.

going to the left - ****ing EASY! His legs move him in EVERY direction. He succeeded at moving left. CHECKMARK!
throwing across his body - Whatchu talkin' bout Alex?? He DEFINITELY threw across his body! SUCCESS! He completed your criterion. CHECKMARK!
primary receiver was not sims who adjusted his route and went into the endzone - ****ing freelancing Sims! Doesn't he know that's the sort of **** that gets people hurt! Stick to the play that isn't working!!!!! NO CHECK FOR SIMS!
tannehill saw that - OBJECTION! You can't prove eye contact, your honor!
when he was already in throwing motion - YES he WAS!!! CHECK!!!
That's THREE check marks, proving he DID do what you listed! Therefore Tannehill succeeded.

Im pretty sure ryan will feel bad about the throw, so theres only one way to get rid of that guilt...more focus in practice..more angry come game day.

If Tannehill throws it in his breadbasket, he doesn't get a concussion right? Was it intentional? Absolutely not. Do all of Tannehills bad throws lead to concussions? Absolutely not, look at the Stills throw later. If Sims falls a different way, maybe he's unharmed.
But that throw, caused that concussion. No way around that.Rock Sexton likes this. -

The most ridiculous thing I've heard was that the throw didn't cause the concussion. Yeah, if Tanny threw it in Sims breadbasket, he'd catch it, celebrate the TD by banging his head into the wall like Gus Frerotte, causing a concussion.
See? Tanny's throw didn't cause the concussion! It's like Final Destination and it would have happened anyway. -
You're right -- it was completely avoidable. Lazor could have called for his QB to roll to his right instead of his left (as he did a few minutes later). Tannehill could have made an NFL-caliber throw. And Sims could have chosen to not go after the ball and catch Mike Wallace criticism for it.
It's football. I'd rather not blame anybody. But if I had to choose, Sims would be the last in line. So often the quality of the throw determines a receiver's the level of danger. -
Tanny's problem is he didn't stop and set his feet. He had time. There was nothing wrong with how the play was drawn up. -

That was a freak injury. But Tannehill is definitely responsible for Keller's career being over.
